    Here come the haters….

  • +23

Bought a pair from the last deal. Great slippers, don’t know why there is so much hate… especially at this price.

    • +1

      Thank you stretchypants :)

      • +3

I am also in the same boat as you I ordered a pair for myself and wife a few week ago and they are great. I paid $35 delivered each so this is a better deal. I would purchase again. I believe I received the order in 5 days or so even during COVID-19

    • +6

I also bought mine about 2 months ago. Wore them non-stop since as I've been WFH. Standing up well.

    • Yep, totally agree.

Got two pairs last time, am literally wearing mine right now as I type. Awesome scuffs to beat the cold weather/tile floor system shock!

      • Can you honestly claim that you don't use any product that doesn't have an impact on the environment?

        • -1

No, and nor would I claim to since that's effectively impossible. Trying to justify the status quo with all-or-nothing fallacies really doesn't help us out of the mess that all of us are in together.

  • Damm… bought 2 pairs on Monday… murphy's law…

  • Can anyone comment on sizing?

    • +3

we say stay to your USA size but when in doubt with scuffs go up one size.

      • +1

I purchased a pair based on this advice and mine were at least one size too big (using nike adidas as reference). Either that advice is wrong or someone put the wrong size on my pair.

    • +1

I'm usually a half size so I went up and they were a bit snug to begin with but almost wear in so they're perfect now.

    • I got same size and they were quite tight at first, but they loosen up with use. Migh be better to go up a size though for more comfort, depends on how you like them to sit on your foot

      • Just out of curiosity, are we talking about the men's sizing? It's strange as mine are one size too big.

        • yeh talking mens. I have got fairly large feet though, so not sure if that makes a difference.

  • +26

I bought 1 pair from this deal (Ugg Australia), and 1 pair for my partner from Ugg Express. Both very similar in pricing. I also bought mine in one of the first deals and had no issues with postage delays.

Differences for me were that my partners pair seems significantly more 'premium' than my pair from Ugg Australia (this deal). This ranged from the packaging to the scuffs themselves. My pair from Ugg Australia were sent in a generic postal plastic bag with no additional packaging to prevent them from being squashed during transit. My partners pair were in a shoebox, individually wrapped, and with a carboard shaper inside (overkill since they're already in a shoebox but I guess it prevents it from losing its shape entirely). This probably adds more to the cost of production and postage so I can see why it was skipped from a local distributor.

The scuffs themselves: whilst I was happy with my scuffs upon receiving them, once I saw my partners pair which arrived yesterday, I instantly wanted those instead. The sheepskin 'fluff' seems much thicker and there is also an additional 'neck' on the top as you can see from the pictures which may add some further warmth. The sole is also thicker than my pair from Ugg Australia. Most importantly is the structure of the sheepskin over your feet which seems much sturdier and firm compared to my pair from Ugg Australia.

Overall, if both of these deals are available and at a similar cost ($35), I would definitely recommend the pair from Ugg Express over these ones. Much better value overall.

I also understand these are Australian made and Australian owned, with Ugg Express being not Australian owned and their scuffs not made in Australia. But my thoughts are on the overall quality and packaging of the scuffs only.

    • +3

Thank you for your feedback, There is also one other important difference. The other pair is made in ASIA.
This is important for a number of reasons, the Ugg express shoes are made with dangerous chemicals and dyes and there is almost no regulation.
Also all the money goes overseas and doesn't support Australian Manufacturing or Farming.

      • +2

No worries, I had edited my post before your reply regarding the place of manufacture. I noted my feedback was to the quality of the scuffs themselves only.

        • Ok no problem, again thanks for the feedback :). I think you will find yours last much longer. Australian sheepskin is the best for footwear.

      • +23

Do you have any proof for these claims that their shoes "are made with dangerous chemicals and dyes"?

You're opening up your business to defamation claims from Ugg Express with unsubstantiated claims like this.

      • +10

You are on a role. One day you are saying that you do not like to comment on other peoples products and then here you are slating them with what appears to be more false information from you.

        MarketingUggAustraliaOfficial on 13/07/2020 - 09:41
We don't like to comment on other peoples products.

Ugg Express claim the shoes they sell are from Australian wool and that lots of the products they sell are made in Australia.
        https://uggexpress.com.au/collections/australian-made-ugg-bo…

Care to expand on what dangerous chemicals and dyes they are using? You must be some sort of expert to be able to make that comment slandering your competition.

        • -7

We are experts, we have been making Ugg boots for 37 years. They use Mercury, Chrome and the list goes on. These chemicals are very Dangerous and Asian countries don't regulate like Australia.

          • +13

@UGGAustraliaOfficial: Again, do you have any proof that they use these? Your experience in making Ugg boots doesn't exclude you from a defamation claim from Ugg Express.

            • +2

@Justanother: We know what chemicals all Chinese tannerys use. As we are the only Manufacturer who doesn't import and makes in Australia.
yes we can support the claim. We have been lobbying the Govt to act on this.

          • +3

@UGGAustraliaOfficial: Instead of rubishing your competitor, I think you will be more credible if you take note of the feedback and try to make it better? After all, many of us if not all wants to support Australian product where possible. But that doesn't mean aussie manufacturer should rest on their laurel

            • +1

@jmel: We are not rubbishing anyone, Just stating facts.
We are open to feedback and will always continue to improve our products and guarantee the quality.

              • +5

@UGGAustraliaOfficial: I think they are wanting you to validate your claims but I'm interested to lobby/sign up with you guys against imports w/ regulation

          • -4

@UGGAustraliaOfficial: Go on, continue your list and provide your proof for you slander. I don't care how long you have done whatever, proof is what matters.

I was considering purchasing a pair from Ugg Express after the horrible experience with Ugg Australia and getting a refund from PayPal but now I am hesitant after you publicly saying the products they sell are dangerous and they do not support Australian farmers when they claim they do on the website.

            Please provide your proof.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Colver please dm me and I will email you, Im still interested in trying to make you a happy customer of ours.
Please DM and I will fix any issue you have.

          • +3

@UGGAustraliaOfficial: Most of the clothes and items anyone on this forum buys is made in China. You're going to have to do a lot better than baseless claims of "I know cos I know". I want to be on your side, but I'm not fond of believing peple just cos they say so.

      • +4

if it's Australian wool, doesn't it support Australian farming?

are you doing something more for the farmers?

        • yes, by selling more shoes

      • +8

As much as I want to support Australian businesses. But Australian-made or not:

        1. I also don't support baseless accusations, so please provide proof.
        2. Someone provided fair feedback on your product, sounds like you are trying to find excuses to make your competitor's product look more inferior instead of taking it as criticisms to make your products better.
        3. I have tried to buy these slippers from you before, it never left your warehouse, no it's not Auspost's fault as I personally called them and they confirmed they never received the item, so I ended up getting a refund through Amex. However, I did receive the rugs and they were of good quality.
      • I would've thought if it was Australian made, it would be made to a better quality than one made in Asia. That's usually a key point to buying Aussie made products and making it more premium.

      • You shouldn't slander your competitor without solid evidence.

    • +4

I agree with you about the first impression of Ugg Express' products. They looked amazing.

However, I bought a few pairs from Ugg Express for myself and my family last year. They all lasted for a about 2 months before the fur/fluff was completely worn off at the sole. The leather stretched by about 2 sizes up after a few weeks.

I don't have any pair from Ugg Australia to compare with, however I owned a few pairs of ugg boots from different manufacturers (one bought in NZ, another bought at a weekend market in Australia) and they are still good after 10 years so the quality of Ugg Express' products is very disappointing to me. I would never buy them again.

Just a counter opinion regarding packaging, I've just received my boots from Ugg Australia this morning and I'm happy that they were sent in plastic bags only. As I'm conscious about the amount of waste that I throw out, one less box is one less box :)

        • You are referring to your own comment right?

      • I 100% agree with your thoughts regarding packaging from Ugg Express from an environmental perspective. Ugg Express' packaging is definitely unnecessary for a pair of scuffs. Perhaps it appeals more to those that purchase at the $80 RRP rather than us at the OzBargain level.

I hope the pair from Ugg Express last. Whilst my pair from Ugg Australia are still okay I can tell they won't last two winters.

    • +1

What are the soles like on the Ugg Express ones? I have some scuffs from Ugg Australia and the soles are cheap foam. If Ugg Express use proper rubber like a real pair of shoes I'll probably go for them for my next pair.

      • +1

EVA sole, which I think is similar to Ugg Australia, but the ones on the Ugg Express ones are noticeably thicker.

  • +1

I bought another pair. They are nice and warm.

  • +5

Surely if this "deal" is posted every few days then it may as well become your regular price

  • +18

I bought a pair of these in April from a previous deal, and have used them most days since then due to working from home. I do question the durability of them.

I loved them when I first got them as they were super warm and soft, but over time the fluff on the heel and toes have worn away. Now the points of contact on my foot sit on the hard sole only so it isn't as warm and soft as before.

    • +11

Exact same issue with me. dissappointing

      • could you both DM me your order numbers please.

        • yup already did and just check my email, order was on 30 april so i must have got it in May.

    • +5

Had the exact same issue as yours, I thought I was too overweight or something! What I actually did was to contact UggAustralia and they actually did send me a replacement pair which was nice. the downside is this pair feels even less is quality in comparison to my original pair, the sole is different and slimmer, makes this plastic sound when walking around the house like something is clicking in my slippers! and the fluff inside is even less, I've had it for literally 3 days now wearing around the house and the wool is fading…

      • please DM me your original order number

    • I bought these slippers at the end of March and have experienced the same. I wear them every day and they were super comfortable and seemed to be great quality too. The wool has flattened and worn down but what really disappointed me was the hole that has developed next to my small toe. I don’t know if it’s a weak spot…

    • I’ve had the same issue but my order was from May 2019. I only wear these in winter so I can’t say they’ve been worn extensively. Really lovely product and really prefer to support Aussie product and manufacturing. Not sure how long they’re meant to last but you’d expect more than 1.5 winters.

    • I was just sharing my experience for others, but Cameron from Ugg Australia has already organised express delivery on a replacement pair. I wasn't expecting that at all, but that's pretty great customer service.

    • +1

    • Same boat here, bought them in Apr 2020. The heel fluff on the right heel have worn away. They are comfy but I was hoping they will get me through at least 1 winter!

    • Same story here, multiple promises to send replacement pair, gave up as was just as reliable as the slippers.

  • +3

got mine from previous deal back in feb or march and inner sole worn out within 2 months from heel part :/
Should have just got cheaper ones from kmart which atleast last full winter.

    • Sorry about this, we will fix it up.

      • Hi, I have the same issue. The wool is completely worn and gone from the heel part after less than 2 months of use. Really disappointed. Let me know if it possible to get the refund or better quality product as replacement? Thanks!

  • +1

Thought I'd try my luck and buy a pair. Thanks OP

  • Can I find out if anyone had problems getting these delivered in the last couple of deals from Jul 2020?

There were major issues for some for similar specials in May and earlier when many had orders not delivered or incorrect product delivered (wrong colour, mismatched sizes etc) - myself included.

OP said that these issues had been addressed, so the July specials should have been delivered promptly and correctly.

If so, then this deal is would be worth an upvote, if not ………….

    • Got mine in 2-3 days Sydney Metro no issues

    • +1

I only received one pair, waiting for the second pair.

‘A new confirmation email will be sent as soon as the parcel is ready to be shipped’

      • Same situation here. Ordered 5 pairs only received 4. Got a response today that it would be sent out.

  • Just ordered!
checked your shipping info page, you seem to deliver with Auspost. That means delivering to parcel lockers are all good right?

  • +2

Bought a pair of these last sale. Went with my regular size in all other shoes (US 13) and they are way too big. Very disappointed tbh, a pain and almost not worth it for me to pay to return. Surprised they are telling people to go up a size. Mine weren't even able to stay on my feet as I walked. Sent a contact form to them about it and no reply. Quality seemed decent but unfortunately unwearable due to size.

    • +2

If you've paid with PayPal, PP will reimburse your returns cost of up to $45 and up to 8 returns a year.
      https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/returns

I've used this 2 times. Very easy. Simply upload the return shipping receipt. Reimbursement processed within hours and money available within 3 days in your PayPal balance.

    • Same, sizing must not be consistent because comments further up saying they went a size up and they were still tight. I went same size and they were at least a size too big. I sitll wore them because i orginally put it down to variations between brands but that cant be the case if people are buying this exact slipper and saying they were too small.

  • Thanks - Ordered a pair for the missus. :)

  • +6

With the quality issue comments popping up, I might give this a miss.

    • We always guarantee our products.

    • -1

+1. I was going to buy a pair but I can’t be assed returning / going through a warranty process. I’d rather buy a $5 pair from Kmart to last a winter then buy a new one next.

  • +1

Any discount on close pair or slippers from what you have called them on the site.

    • +1

Not for now but maybe soon :).

      • Waiting for the close ones too :)

  • Shows 70 AUD for me?

    • +1

you need to use the code OZBUGG

  • +2

wearing mine from the last deal atm, feet are nice and toasty :)

  • +2

FYI. Got 3 pairs. All eventually wore down at heel area after one winter’s use. If you are happy with that then they are great. I would have paid more if it lasted longer

  • +6

Not sure about other people but I've had bad experiences with these guys.

Their customer service is practically non-existent so if you have any problems with your initial order. Do not expect a resolution unless you go to paypal and open a case for yourself.

Gave them 1 and half months to try and help but always found myself constantly emailing them.

They basically stopped replying to e-mails and even DMs on Ozbargain.

Would never buy from them again.

Also would like these guys to get investigated for alt-account upvoting. Seems like there is some sort of upvote-gaming going on.

  • +8

Zero durability, lasted 2 months for me until the sheepskin was in a bad shape (with every day use).
They should be priced at $30, so definitely not a bargain.

In my opinion, when they go on sale for this price so often, its an indicator they were never worth their RRP to begin with.

    • Our sale is only for OZB, can you DM me your order number please.

      • +3

Rep - what is the resolution after acquiring these order numbers? Will you just be sending extra pairs?

        • No, we want to make sure our customers are happy and also investigate any quality issues to make sure this doesn't happen in the future.

        • +4

They call it damage containment by shutting mouths I guess.

It's apparent that any dissatisfied comments get a "what's your order number? I'll make it right" to bury their mistakes.

Really sad to see our once great Aussie manufacturing gone down the drain, crumpled by these kind of businesses.

  • +1

I bought a pair from this deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/526394) and the quality was great. Soft, luxurious wool inner and a sturdy, hard wearing sole.

My partner bought a pair from this deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/534426) and the quality was totally different. The inner barely felt like wool, more like a synthetic polyester from an ALDI ugg that was completely different to mine and made the bare foot hot and sweaty. The sole was totally different, made from a soft black rubber material that started to break down even on carpet. It was incredibly disappointing and this pair ended up being thrown away because the quality was so poor.

    • Can you DM me your order number on the second one please.

  • +2

Seems like their business model is to sell dodgy shoes and only replace them when the customer complains

    • Bonbi we have sold over 10,000 pairs to OZB, every now and again there will be issues. We do our best to rectify.

    • +6

Pretty sure these guys are gaming the ozb upvote system in some way or another by using alt accounts and leaving positive comments using them to gain traction.

Need scotty to investigate them ASAP.

Given the amount of disgruntled people here there is no way they are consistently getting front page at the same UNCHANGED price every single time.
