OPPO A72 128GB/4GB (Optus Locked) $249 @ Australia Post

1320

Differences to the popular A52:

  • 128GB rather than 64GB storage
  • Higher megapixel camera(s), will make a marginal difference once you've installed GCam.
  • Optus has restricted it to single SIM operation.

Phone is locked to Optus, can usually unlock if you have over $80 in credit, or for $25 after six months. Leave a comment if you know how else to network unlock this one.

Rest of specs on GSMarena or OPTUS.

This is part of Father's Day deals for 2020.

            • @first in line: Thanks for the info!

              • @akte: Same issue as yours. Tried thru the link, cannot unlock. Chat with Optus, said they will send code, one week later, no code.

                • @akte: They are useless. Even when I tried contacting via FB, took a week to finally get it. And I had to remind them every day

                  • @first in line: Finally got mine unlocked after two weeks. Gave my mate excuses that it takes time to request from Oppo.

  • Hi All, Just received the phone today (took more than a week, anyway). It should include $30 credit, but the SIM pack inside says no recharge value. I havent activated the SIM yet to be sure. Could anyone let me know whether its a mistake. Thanks.

    • +1

You will get $30 upon activation, also able to choose the plan with the $30

  • Those of you who ordered online how long did they take to ship after ordering?

    • +1

I ordered Monday morning around 8am and was delivered to me in QLD on Thursday around 8:30am. So about 3 days - not bad.

    • I ordered Monday 10/8, paid via PayPal, then finally arrived today 27/8 in Bayswater VIC, was able to see on Aus post website from Wednesday 12/8

      • Hmm I ordered mine on 22/08
Finally went from processing on the Aus Post tracking to processed on Sunday but still hasn’t moved from there.
Says ETA is from last Friday till Tomorrow 🤞

  • Got my unlock code emailed to me after one contact and waiting 6 days.
Now stuck on how to enter unlock code. lol.
*#789# doesn't seem to bring up the unlock screen.

    • Do you have a sim card that isn't on the Optus network?

      • yes, inserted a Boost sim.

        • The screen should come up automatically once you restart your phone.

    • Finally got there!
Here is what worked for me should anyone else have the same issue.
      1. connect phone to wi-fi
      2. On the number pad, dial *#475838912# to open the Unlock Window
      3. enter unlock code
      4. press unlock

  • Procrastinated on this phone for awhile, then jumped and bought the A52 for $212.50.

    • How'd you get it that cheap?

      • From Catch. $10 referral + Unidays + 15% off gift card.
