Rocket Blender (Clone) for $1 + $18 Postage from ShoppingSquare (Requires Facebook Like)

46

Well, they are pimping for Facebook 'likes' so they offer this blender with various bowls.

Don't Pay: $199.95
Was: $36.95
Our Price: $1.00 GST Inc.
Save: $198.95(99%) = ROFL Discount FTW Woot!

But the postage is a bit steep - there is a calculator thingy on the linked page. These blenders are often sold at about the $20 price point anyway, so check the total cost. Note that they offer 50% off the delivery cost of a second item, so it becomes much better bargain if you combine it with something else.

For example, they have the SATA Dock with Card Reader at $19.95 + P&H which is not too bad. Anyway, I'll leave you to decide if it's worth buying extra or just grab the blender alone.

I didn't check if they actually will cross-reference to your Facebook or not. Here is the page

How good is this stuff?? I will buy it if the blender comes with SATA dock and card reader

    • i cant stop laughing!!

This blender was being sold at kmart for $19, parts were poorly made (hence for $19), returned back to kmart, they were all recalled back to manufacture. The rubber ring in the lid of the blender blade would come undone and become blended with the food contents (yuk).

      • That's what my Aldi one did… It was a really useful blender until then…

      • My big w one did this aswell

    • How good is this stuff?? I will buy it if the blender comes with SATA dock and card reader

It's good for reducing your electronic waste into a mulch, apparently.

  • Why would you make the title rocket blender (clone?) when the website only refers to it as "multi function blender" ?

    • Because that style of blender is termed a "rocket blender". It's a description, an adjective so that people will know what it is.

I changed the title and removed the question mark.

  • neg for me. coz, the shipping cost is too much, if you order this item and lost, they might return u only $1, as normally the merchant not giving you refund for shipping cost.

    • That is silly that you think that. If you use a safe payment method (eg: Credit Card or Paypal) then the retailer is forced to refund in full including shipping.

      • nope. it happen to me when i purchase on ebay, i didn't receive the item and they offer me refund the item minus the shipping and handling cost. complaint to paypal, and paypal agree with the seller. thats why they play with the loophole, give u the item free and charge you shipping cost higher. why can't they just put the price $19 with free freight.

next time always read their term and condition, if read their below term and condition, they are not responsible for the loss of the item, and if you claim loss item, it only cover $1. my neg vote is valid. this is a loophole that the company play with their customer.

Literally the identical Homemaker stock that they sell at Kmart for $19. No bargain.

    • You must have missed the part of my OP where I wrote:

These blenders are often sold at about the $20 price point anyway, so check the total cost

      ???

2 items I bought for from SSQ took nearly 2 Months to arrive !
NEVER EVER will i buy from them again, no matter how good the deal !

    • why u couldn't?

    • Did you read the section on the page that says "If not posted within 2 days we will refund the postage price"?

      • yea you tell them that…,besides they posted it the very next day it "SEEMS" the time it took to get to me isn't guaranteed, fair enough but 2 months f* off ! Wht the idiots must hav done was order it from ebay at half the price, then repost it to me at double or more, Biggest CHEATS and WASTE of time !

  • bs "don't pay price". $19 seems like a normal price for a cheap blender.

  • No bargain here.

  • +1

    Lol $18 shipping

    "Don't Pay: $199.95"

    You're kidding…are you high?

    • HomeArt have these for around $30 even when not on sale. On sale, $15.
Anything that says "don't pay $xxx" is almost always a sure fire load of crap.

  • +4

This product is rubbish. An utter waste of money. I'd place it in my top five worst buys of all time. It doesn't properly blend anything and it's a pain in the neck to clean. The connecting seals between the attachments don't work, so the thing sprays liquid everywhere. You have to apply considerable pressure to the top, or else the base will spin: note, nothing's actually happening to the food! Junk.

    • If you bought from Kmart, you can still return it back for a full refund.

      • +1

Ah nuts - thanks for the heads up but I threw it in the bin in disgust a long, long time ago. Reading those defects sure brings back memories though.

    • Mine works perfectly fine. It blends well and really isn't that hard to clean. Mine never leaked and I don't have to hold it down.
This product isn't rubbish, you just got a dud one or you are expecting to much from it. It's only meant for small jobs.

  • HEY - Take it easy with the negs re: shipping costs - most of you don't seem to have much experience, and are freaking at the $18.

    The carton is 33.5(L) X 25.5(W) X 27.5(H) cm

To send that size package between Sydney and Melbourne by Australia Post would cost you or me $16.85

Brisbane to Melbourne is $18.95, or Sydney to Perth is $29.45

    http://auspost.com.au/apps/domestic-parcel.html

So a flat rate Australia-wide of $18 is not too bad really, even though we all moan about it.

Of course SS would use a cheaper method than Aust Post, but also consider that if you bought TWO if these devices, then the total cost is $29 which is $14.50 each.

… whether you'd actually want two (got 2 hated family members?) is up to you to decide :-)

    • +1

      @llama
"most of you don't seem to have much experience" you do for sure!

It isn't YOU who posts something across Australia but a merchant which always gets bulk deals from shipping companies.
But I guess your shop (shoppingsquare) does drop shipping so that they must charge around $20 delivery fees to cover the delivery fees they paid to the supplier?

      Please don't be too smart.

  • +3

This is not a bargain bcs I've bought this one at kmart long time ago with "only" $19

    $18 Postage
    bad joke

For those of the midnight wolfpack who lost their negative votes.

Your negative votes highlighted what the poster had already declared in the post. People here are not dummys they can read for themselves. Your negative votes just hide the deal, so they cant even read it, to make up their own mind.

Dont like the deal, leave it alone. Deals with low positive votes tell us all anyways

Again read the guidelines on negative voting..

    • Is that ok a negative vote on a recalled product?

      • it's not a recalled product. The kmart Homebrand one has being recalled. That doesn't mean all rocket blenders which look alike have been recalled.

        • +3

Look at the pictures and tell me if you see any difference.

It hasn't been recalled from shoppingsquare doesn't mean the product is safe.

        • wat about the original rocket blender. That looks the same as the fake ones. Do u think that should be removed to. My point being that it might not be safe but you can't call it a recalled product.

        • It's a recalled product from Kmart, before it was not until people started complaining.

You see the RRP $198.95 it's a huge joke to foolish (some) people, but if you don't mind that this product might be unsafe (which implies its not safe), then go for it.

        • +2

There are a number of clones of this. I would think Shopping square would be rather stupid to sell a product that is subject of a recall.

If you are absolutely sure then ok, but otherwise it might be wise to preface your remarks with the looks like etc. Rather than make a definite statement like you are.

Stores like Reject shop and Homeart also sold blenders like these, and they dont seem to be subject to a recall. My parents have one from Reject shop and have found it ok. (But like many gadjets the novelty has warn off.

As for removing your vote, no thats stands as its a warning. The issue being is your warning right. It may not be which using the negative vote, would be revoked if its shown to be wrong, which while it appears you might be, isnt proven.

      • That's ok, I removed my vote but it seems I cannot edit my post.

    • the reason i put neg vote, coz i have experience with their ebay store before where i didn't receive the item and only get offer refund for the item cost minus the postage and handling. which is loss for me. i am not making a story in here. but it is a fact. it is up to the member. no hard feeling to OP, i just want to share my experience only.

      • +1

I see…. $1 for the product $18 for delivery, worst case you won't get the product but they only refund you $1 and keep $18 by doing nothing.
        Smart business indeed!

        • +1

correct!!! if u read the term and condition, it doesn't protect the customer. even you claim with paypal, paypal will agree with them coz they have mentioned on their term and condition. this is only my warning to other member. think twice with these similar type of offer.

"Freight charges are calculated on the basis of weight, location of delivery and insurance charges which vary depending on the value of the product. All freight charges are the responsibility of the customer which are included in the postage and handling charges. The goods shall be at the customers’ risk from the date of despatch. Apus Corp is not responsible for any loss or damage:"

        • Joannatan

Sorry I missed that point you were making. If you still want your negative vote just let me know. While I cant reverse the reverse, I can vote negative to make up for it

          Pete

      • yes. i still want this post to be neg vote, as the seller play with the loophole. to the OP, please do not take offend on my vote, as this is not to you, but purely to the seller that doing business not in the good faith.

        • No offence taken.. Negative vote made

        • Hi ozpete that's no fair without a reason! :P just kidding

        • thats somtimes the problem here, you have to read all a negative voters posts to see what they are neg voting on.. sigh…. kidding accepted

    • +2

      From the Wiki

"Postage costs can be negatively voted against, if it takes the total deal over the price of a product that can be obtained from another supplier"

Well the postage makes it equal to the similar product available at Kmart. So technically it shouldn't be neg'd, but I would say that given the chequered reputation of ShoppingSquare reported by many members of OzBargain, that buying it from the local Kmart would be more suitable (especially considered their superior return policy).

But regulars here are aware of Shopping Squares reputation.

      • Add also that Kmart had to recall the blender and refund the money.

  • postage is a kill

  • was $19 at Aldi, without 6 weeks wait for shipping

  • 6 neg vote has been removed :)

    • Things seem have changed :)

  • Don't Pay: $199.95

    ROFL .. $199.95 my @$$

    • I think the official/original rocket blenders are $199.

Its like saying dont buy ferrari @ $600k, buy hyundai, only $15k

The Woolworths version has also been recalled … And as I mentioned I had the same problem with Aldi version, so I hope they recall too.

This stuff came all from the same place, Aussie retailers buy there I guess for $5 and sell to ripped off Aussies varying from $40 to $20.

  • This is a good little product but it's the normal price so I'm not going to +/- vote it either way.

Works well for small jobs so long as you don't, just like every other blender, cram it full or buy the crappy clones, they tend to not work very well.
I've had one for 2 years now and it worked well for me, me and a house mate and then me and my gf. I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than that though

    • That may be the case, but then these retailers ought to have an incentive to distinguish their crappy version from the nebulous original one that seems to be excellent. Why don't they offer a better warranty? A guarantee? More pictures? Free trial versions? A different set of colours? Then the buyer could see that this was one of the good ones that worked.

The reason none of these things are happening is becaues this one is one of the crappy ones. It doesn't work. The retailer can't demonstrate that it has superior quality, because it doesn't have superior quality. The one for sale in this post is like all the other ones. Even if you follow the instructions to the letter, it will still leak. Even if you try and copy what they do in the infomercial, it will still spray the contents everywhere.

Maybe somewhere out there there is a brilliant version, that totally does what it says it does. A truly excellent blender that saves heaps of time in the kitchen. But it isn't this one. This one is crap, just like all the others. If it wasn't, the retailer would be falling all over themselves to differentiate it.

      • And u must be very lucky if the motor didn,t get burn as u only can use for 15 seconds only and u need to stop for the motor cooling down before u can start to use again

        • You must have missed the part about small jobs
15 seconds would indicate you're over filling it or you have a defective one as well, both of mine took just over a minute to heat up under normal use. I've had a clone and a Rocket, vary little difference if any. Just check out the quality of what you are buying, it's not that hard.
I am amazed that people still seem to think this is a full on blender.

      • tl;dr

Look, you bought a crap one and it bit you in the arse. Just accept it and move on. That particular unit was defective but you still hold it against the entire line, it's obvious you're just hurt (over a product I might add). It doesn't mean they are all rubbish. Calm down.

        • the different between the cheap and the good one is on the motor of this blender, the good one the motor has strong power and can use for more than 15 seconds, the cheap one they are using lower quality, therefore it will burn if u use too long.

        • So do you believe this is the "good" one for $1??

        • surely not dealhunt :)

        • I remember someone his name starts with j had the engine sparkling or something like that?? :)

  • $18 postage = neg

  • This website is called Ozbargain, this is not a bargain.

  • I want my neg reinstated.

  • +2

For those who may not know, you can subscribe at recalls.gov.au to receive notifications of any recalls pretty much straight away.

It's a bit of a concern that a product that can have several brands on the same product can have individuals brands singled out for recall rather than all of the batch - a loophole that possibly needs looking into.

    • I agree, I have a toaster identical (the one i have has a more polished steel finish) to one of the ones which have been recalled by Kmart, http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/1003785 but I bought it from Golo…I am still not sure whether to chuck it out or keep using it as it works fine.

      • Wow, the 2-slice one looks identical to the Breville toaster I recently threw out (since it died). I could have ogt a refund….

      • Wow, thanks! I have this toaster and will be going to get a refund today :)

  • the main question now is if the product to be recall, who pay the return shipping cost? at normal store u can go to the store and return it and get ur money back, how about this online store, do they pay the return shipping cost? if they did, do they return $19? or $1 only, remember this is hypothetical question only.

  • "Don't Pay: $199.95"

Such statements are not only misleading, but an insult to consumer intelligance.
