Ozguard Hand Sanitiser 750ml $6.50 while stocks last at Woolworths.

Mod: Once logging in and selecting your store, the $6.50 price disappears. We tried some 15 stores, as well as users trying to scan the product in store and were unable to find the $6.50 price on any occasion. Whilst it might be available at some stores, they aren't able to be found and the vast majority, if not all, are showing as $12 / $13 or a similar price higher than $6.50. Note that you need to be logged in AND have your store selected to see the price. See comments here and here.

Please ensure that you have a store selected before visiting Woolworths or posting deals, to avoid disappointment, rather than solely relying on the prices displayed on external price tracking websites.

  • Showing $6.50 for me in VIC

  • $0.87 per dl is a good price.

  • Also showing $6.50 for me (Ballarat, VIC)

  • Hmm, well that is odd. $13 for me even though I'm on a vpn Melbourne server and check stock in our stores Using your current location is showing all Melbourne stores.

  • +1

    Made in China?

    • +5

Try and find something that is made locally for $0.87/dl.

      • That will never happen, even post covid, given the award rates here…

        • +7

Aldi Tricare is Aus made and used to be only 15.5% dearer at $7.50 for 3x 250ml bottles when I bought them in January.
I doubt they will be that cheap again though.

      At all relevant?

I've come to the conclusion that anything with "OZ" in it is almost always not made in Australia.

      • I think you have cracked the code. Even OZbargain website isn't hosted in Australia!

      • I'm pretty certain that I checked one of these in store the other day and it looked as though it was made here… I will re-check

But otherwise I would generally agree with "Oz" names…

    • I mean that's where all the big chemical factories are, so yeah probably.

    • Yes, it is made in China.

    • +3

Nope. It will only protect from people not wearing masks and coughing/sneezing in other people's faces.

    • +3

Don’t be selfish, think of others

      • You're implying he sprays other people directly with this? That's a bit harsh

    • +1

      @Dex38313

Maybe change you username to OzKaren

      • -3

I’m not a dan communist sheep I’ll still go shopping no mask as I’m exempt

        • How are you exempt?

          • +1

            @mapax:

            How are you exempt?

            Lack of brain.

          • -3

@mapax: Because I’m outside a lockdown zone and I can think for my self not need dan to tell me how to think

            • +1

@Dex38313: Uh, all of Victoria is a “lockdown zone” as of Monday the 3rd of August and everyone will be required to wear a mask.

              • @mapax: No not all of victoria Melbourne mitchel shire
Geelong surfcoast Colac are in lock down the rest of us are free and the only restrictions some people will have is to wear a mask
Unless a person has a medical condition

                • @Dex38313: I used quotation marks because I was inferring that since nearly everyone in Vic will have to wear a mask the whole state might as well be a lockdown zone.

    $6.50 Here In Perth

    • Showing as $13 for me on the woolies website

  • My Woolies was using bottles of this at their entrance the other day. A bit runny but smells fine, seemed unscented, so no long lasting odour.

    • +1

hmm, might pass then. Not a fan if it's too watery. May as well just buy the big bottle of isoprop and make up your own spray if it comes out like that.
Does it even have a momentary alcohol smell?

(or maybe they've just watered it down at the store :P)

  • It only claims to kill bacteria and not viruses…

    • So you're safe to use it then JV…

      • I use Microsoft Defender Antivirus

    • Cosmetic products are not allowed to claim activity against viruses.

  • Was at Woolies eastern suburbs Melbourne a few minutes ago and it's still scanning up at $12.

    • I'm in Melb and seeing $13 online not sure what is going on as it says was $15, now $13

  • -8

    junk, made in China.

  • Very good price.
    Have you personally used this?
If the hands feel sticky or smelly afterward then I probably will pass.

    • It's not sticky and smells great. Highly recommend.

      • is it runny

        • Not runny but surely not very thick. Easier to rub and distribute it in your hands.

  • support aqium. feels great on hands and is used in hospitals. Australian made.

    • Oh Aquium is a brand.

    • +1

cool - happy to, can you show me where aqium is in stock and hasn't been jacked?

  • It can see the price is $6.50 but when I login to my Woolworth account it become $13. This is weird.

  • +1

    Made in China :-/

Cant we support Made in Aus stock?

Cant we support Made in Aus stock?

Not for much longer. Certain types are pushing the meme that it’s “racist” to want to know country of origin or support Aus made.

      • +2

no one will discriminate you if you support Aus made.

      • +1

Certain types are pushing the meme that it’s “racist”

I prefer to buy Italian made pasta. It tastes better.

        Is that racist?

      • +1

Consumers can make their own decision. Companies should just provide the information of the origin of product.

        • Correct, but for some reason some of the perpetually offended are trying to convince people that wanting to know country of origin is “wrong”. I am yet to hear a good reason why it would be wrong.

    • $4.80 for 125ml here , please buy more and support them.
it can't be that cheap though.

  • Was showing 12$ then closed the app and tried again showing 10$ now

    • +1

Keep closing the app and you'll eventually get it for free

      • -3

Thanks genius. You should be incharge of the world which is going off the rails lately

  • showing $13 for VIC store when logged in & selected store for click & collect. how are people getting it for $6.50?

  • +1

This Sanitiser does the job fine with a solution of 70% (v/v) ethyl alcohol. We use this for our work environment.

"Experts say the gold standard is a sanitiser with 60–80 per cent alcohol — the level required to kill the virus if it is on your hands"

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-04-02/coronavirus-hand-sani…

  • +1

Just a heads up … We bought this sanitiser recently from Woollies, then the other day I read this:
    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-07-27/hand-sanitiser-manufa…

Oz-guard is only 70% alcohol v/v and does not state the type of alcohol. Basically, it's in breach of TGA rules.

    • You don't need to declare the "type" of alcohol. This is not a TGA rule.

        • These are special category products that allow temporary deregulation of hand sanitizers that fit the TGA's guidelines for use in medical setting. Medical applications generally have to use TGA compliant products where applicable.

Non-therapeutic hand sanitizers that comply with NICNAS/ACCC guidelines (which is where the bulk of the hand sanitizer products sit) are still available for use and sold to consumers with limited product claims (i.e., cosmetic claims and not therapeutic).

  • shows 12 for me
    $1.60 / 100ML

  • Just use ordinary soap and wash hands properly
