First post!

For those who were looking for a better option to the cascade or buro metro chair. Here's another one for you.

Ergo task chair spec wise seems similar to the buro mentor, a chair which has depth adjustability and a bit more ergonomic features than the cascade or metro. Appears more suited to someone who might be shorter.

Had a chat to these guys about these chairs and they've made a exclusive code for ozbargain.

Use the code for $20 off any chairs.

With free shipping seems to be cheapest price atm.

Currently on sale for $329 and with the ozbargain code down to $309.

Wish you all good bargain hunting.

The Ergo task comes with a full set of adjustments to assist in supporting you in a full range of tasks. Suited to heavy duty use with seat slide for extra seat depth and ratchet back for extra back height and a fully ergonomic mechanism for seat and back adjustment.

    Nothing to fear…

This chair appears to be armless

You can add arms for free using the dropdown on the page.

      What about a chai ?

  • This may be just me, but I can't get the website to open, on my phone or laptop.

    Edit: Looks fixed now

So you are associated with them? Please check the I am associated box or there will be sockpuppeting penalties

    • +1

      Nah I'm not.

Actually was trying to buy this from the epic furniture guys and called the wrong number.

And he asked if he could get in on the action and made this deal up. Asked if I could post for him.

Thought I'd do it to try help a small business out at this shitty period!

        • +6

you are advertising for them which still means association

No, it doesn't. If that's the case then literally every single deal on this site should be marked associated.

  • Armed version is $40 more.

I do have a Cascade on order, but with a 1 month delay and needing a chair soon this is tempting. Anyone able to compare? After discount, with arms this one is $150 more than a Cascade. Other than being able to handle more weight and having a longer warranty, is there more to this one than the Cascade?

    • Armed version is $40 more.

I think that one is not legal in Australia.

    • Just realised the Cascade also has a 10 year warranty. Seems like the main difference is the weight rating.

      • Seat depth adjustment. Which should help with those who might be a bit shorter.

unlike the Cascade, the Ergo is fully ergonomic/adjustable with independent seat and back depth/height/angle/tilt

So many chair options, but not familiar with the brand & not many reviews makes it hard to decide on what is good.

    • same and the price difference makes another story

  • I need one with arms so the other two don't suit (also the turnaround time from the other sellers). The only issue with this one is no lumbar support ?!?

Not the best for REALLY short people. I'm looking at the Mentor and the Vela as they go 425-475mm seat depth. 450 is the absolute max depth I would go as a 153cm person :)

  • As the business was first registered at the end of January has anyone dealt with this company or experience with the chairs they are reselling?

  • Our workplace has a 30% discount for ergo chairs.

But Ordered Haworth fern at 50% discount as it is similar range to aeron /steelcase

    • Is that 50% discount open to everyone or just team members?

      • Haworth has tie up with my company and employees can buy at discounted price. Will be receiving it tomorrow.

Fingers crossed as I had only sat on Zody which we use in my workplace.

30% discount was with "ergofurniture" which supplies furniture to my company.

        • Ahh, hopefully you enjoy your new chair!
I’m thinking about picking up a Zody. How’d you like it?

          • @sl0567: Zody is really good. Lots of adjustments and excellent lumbar support. I am 185 cm and have a colleague who is140 cm and fits us both. Never had back pain but since working from home and using Ikea chair gave me lower back pain which made me order one.

Had an option to borrow the chair from work but decided to buy. Has a 12 year warranty on everything. Can customise the colours too but had 8-10 weeks lead time.

Fern doesn't have lumbar support but was available for immediate delivery. They are certified by American ergonomics institute and recommended by American physiotherapists association.

Thanks elite . What could you recommend for someone 6foot 5 100kgs sitting in it 8+ hours. Looking for a big back and seat pad

      • +3

        Hi Sasangeleus,

The ergo task would definitely be my first choice. The chair is 30.6 kg in weight, very well made and takes165kg in weight. The seat is large and extremely comfortable. The back may look a bit low but it is an adjustable racket back so it can be raised. Seat size 520mm in width

Alternatively the PU300 is a great choice if you are after a good PU leather look chair with all ergonomic features. It has a very wide seat pan at 540mm

Our Colossus Office Chair comes in real leather and takes 200kg weight. It is super comfortable with a huge back and sea pad but cannot be adjusted much due to the weight setting. The Seat is 570-575mm wide!

        I hope this helps,

        Kind Regards

Welcome to OzBargain and thanks for the great contribution, OP!

What would be your recommendation for someone who's 167 cm and 70-75kg and typically prefers a low, back leaning sitting position?

  • Hi Rep,
What is a good chair without arms for a primary school child. Someone above mentioned this isn’t the best chair if you are small.

    Wish list;
    - ergonomic
    - black
    - mesh back
    - armless
    - suitable for someone small (ie: primary school child)

    Thanks

  • Can anyone comment how this chair compares with something like this, or other ergonomic chairs from OfficeWorks for that matter?

The attractive thing about it is being able to try it in-store, as much as I would prefer to support small business, not to mention that this deal (with arms) is $50 cheaper.

    • Just brought 1 today! Delivered to my office less than 10mins after i make the payment LOLx
Good quality and very comfort. Definally will get few more tmr.

      • Thanks for sharing - that delivery speed is freaky and worthy of the Guiness book of records. You didn't say if you compared them to the OfficeWorks stock though, or anything else in this price range…

          • @eliteofficefurniture: Thank you for the invitation. Unfortunately, I don't think I would be able to visit, as the nearest store is 35+ km away and, being in lockdown, I would have a hard time explaining to the police why I'm out furniture shopping this far from home.

            • +1

              @elektron: Hi Elektron,

I completely understand. Hope the situation gets better soon in Vic.

I've had a look at the chair you posted.

I've done a complete comparison for you between our Ergo Task vs the Buro chair you posted.

              • Ergo has an Adjustable Racket Back (Buro has a Fixed Back)
              • Ergo has an Adjustable Seat Slider (Buro has a Fixed Seat)
              • Ergo Task has a really Thick Moulded Foam Seat Cushion (From the photo, the Buro's seat looks very thin)
              • Ergo Task has a much larger large seat size (490d x 520w), remember with the seat slider you will able to adjust it further (about 6cm front and back). The Buro's (430dx 480w) is actually quite small, especially the depth of the seat.
              • Ergo 165kg rating as opposed to 135kg (The product sheet states 135kg, not sure why the web page shows 2 other different numbers)
              • Ergo has BIFMA rating, Bruno doesn't
              • Both had ARFDI, but please note the Ergo is ARFDI approved to Level 6 Severe Commercial Test.

              Hope this helps!

              Elite Office Furniture

              • @eliteofficefurniture: This is extremely helpful, Elite - many thanks! Your comparison really shows what great value the Ergo Task is at this price point. I am still trying to justify purchasing a new chair (somebody just offered to loan me an Aldi office chair they're not using) but if I do buy one, it will be the Ergo Task.

              • @eliteofficefurniture: Hi, Could you please compare the ergo and the rhino:

                https://www.eliteofficefurniture.com.au/products/hino-chair

They look so similar, but from what I can see the seat is a bit larger on the rhino.

I'm looking to buy a chair today.

                cheers

                • @0power: Hi Rhino is a great option and a very popular chair.

The main difference is that Ergo comes with a seat slider and the Rhino doesn't.

                  We prefer the Ergo Task.

Reduce this by $9 and it becomes tax deductible in a single tax year. At $309 you have to depreciate over 3 years.

    • Hi Carleast,

Unfortunately with free shipping we won't be able to do it for $299.

If you would like to pick it up from our local warehouse then I am happy to do a deal for $299.

Please live chat us on the website for a special discount code.

      Kind Regards,

      Elite Office Furniture

      • Please live chat us on the website for a special discount code.

thanks for being so responsive here - could you perhaps somehow make it $299 + $10 delivery?

        • +1

          Yes, we can do that.

Once you order the chair, simply reply to the order confirmation and we can issue a gst invoice for $299inc + $10 delivery fee. :)

          Elite Office Furniture

    • We love our Rio, it is a great chair and it is in stock.

Ergo has a Seat Slider + 165kg weight rating. The seat is also bigger and the back mesh is also wider. They are both good chairs! The Ergo is overall still a much better built product in our opinion.

      Kind Regards,

      Elite Office Furniture

Received my chair today & just put it together. Overall it seems good. But the adjustable back ratchets up, & then falls down again at the slightest movement.

    Is anyone else seeing this?

It looks like there are two little bolt holes that could be used to fix it at maximum height. But no matching little bolts were included.

    • +1

      Hi Dezsch,

The Backrest can be pulled up and down. When you pull the back to the highest position, the racket mechanism will automatically reset and drops the back to the bottom. So if you would like the back to be adjusted to the highest point, you will need to pull it up and let go just before it hits the top. (Or it will reset). This is a popular feature to allow users to adjust the back height in less than a second.

I am not sure what you're referring to with the little bolt holes, but you certainly don't need them to move the back.

Please try that and let us know how you go! Feel free to give us a ring or comment here with any more questions!

Please also see below the full instruction on the chair which explain the mechanism.

Ha thanks. Please excuse my inexperience with this type of mechanism. It works as you describe.

        • No issues at all! Just glad it's working well now! :)

What is the different between this and the Central II Ergo Range?

    https://www.eliteofficefurniture.com.au/collections/chairs/p…

What is the seat slide range of the Ergo Task?

    • I am deciding between the Ergo Task and the Central II Ergo Range to order today too.
I wish the Ergo Task had some sort of headrest attachment then it would be perfect.

Planning to do a lot of leaning back for watching movie then back to upright positions for work.
