  • Do you get the discount if you don't use afterpay.

    • +9

I got it, but in a sneaky way.
I clicked afterpay, applied cupon, then paid everything with giftcard. It went through.

      • Clever

      • Can you stack the afterpay coupon with other coupons?

        • No.

  • It seems cashback promotion ends 11:59 PM, Friday, 31 July 2020, is it still eligible if we purchase today?

    • +2

The invoice should be dated before that, you can submit the claim until the end of August

  • If anyone knows then please let me know if I can fit this SSD into SATA enclosure like https://www.msy.com.au/simplecom-se218-blue-25-hddssd-to-usb… and then use it as external SSD.

    Thanks

    • I have one of this 2.5" enclosure bought from Aliexpress. It worked with ssd 2.5" perfectly but might not get full ssd read/write capability as when you connect via SATA.

      • Fair enough.
I want to use it as storage for my TV, and that will be connected to WiFi. So I do not mind if I lose a little bit of speed due to this extra connection. Unless it is extremely slow… after this enclosure connection.

    • Yes.

    • That'll work fine. I have something similar from Shopping Express (it was their only suitable one) and I've had no issues.

No, some people need it now. Thanks for posting doweyy.

Nooooo, spent $6.30 more from Shopping Express!

(Was still a good deal, nonetheless)

    • Just bought a few hours ago from SE

Wow so cheap! I wonder how much longer it'll be before SSD's become cheaper per gigabyte than spinning hard-drives.

  • I don't need more SSD but I want to buy it.

    • same here. buy a m2 ssd instead

  • I just got one Thx.

  • The coupon code seems to be working for me even before selecting a payment method. I'm on ebay plus though.

    • It doesn't actually work once you select a payment method other than afterpay.

  • +4

How about give deals like this to ebay plus members instead of making is jump through hoops.

  • Still $89+ shipping at Shopping Express

    • You'll find it's expired / OOS now.

  • How do I claim the cashback?

    • OP has already included the link to the original cashback post

    • -1

Ebay apparently doesnt count as part of their promotion. Check their page for participating sellers. https://www.samsung.com/au/offer/ssd-eofy-cashback/
If that was your selling point I suggest you cancel your order on ebay quickly, otherwise try contact samsung and see how you go with them, if they would honour your purchase, but I just tried and they said no :(

  • +1

    Will it be invoiced today?

  • Hey guys I just checked with samsung on their live chat and their page for the promo and they said you can't use ebay for their cashback offer so be careful. You have to get the item through one of their selected sellers. Computer alliance is one of them but their ebay store evidently doesn't count. I realised this after buying the item so yea. Just a forewarning if that was the selling point here for you!

    • +1

You can, the invoice is provided directly from Computer Alliance and has no reference to eBay. Plenty of people have done this previously with Shopping Express / PC Byte and other entities who have eBay stores.

      • Oh thats great news! Thanks so much doweyy! :) You are brilliant :D
Does the invoice come with the package or should I have it online?

        • +1

That's all good, you should receive the tax invoice in the package from what I remember last time I ordered from CA. Otherwise if you don't receive one they're easily contactable, the invoice date is the purchase date so it'll still fall inside the terms and can be claimed up to the end of August.

          • @doweyy: Awesome thanks so much :) Just to confirm, there is nothing I need to do right now until I get the invoice? Nothing to do on samsung site? As long as it has been purchased before end of promotion period.

            • +2

@cleverkoala: Yeah you can't do too much until you receive the drive and the invoice as you'll need the Serial Number and the Invoice to upload. If you run into any issues with the serial number feel free to PM me, I got the drive yesterday from this deal and will be going through the process also, so happy to help where I can :)

              • @doweyy: Cheers :D just signed up to ozbargain to comment about this so glad i did otherwise i never wouldve known haha :P

  • If anyone is wondering, how long does cashback take? In my case, 28 days.

  • +6

For peoples info - we won't be invoicing any more of these today, meaning practically the cashback deal is no longer available. We have invoiced all orders up to now.

Bit of a tip for people processing the redemption's — you will need the serial number off the physical drive, not the one on the box. The drive SN has an extra digit. We record the one on the box only, so you will need to wait till you receive before you can claim. Invoices ship with the orders and you can get a electronic version by logging into the computeralliance.com.au website (if you are a new customer, just do a password reset using your eBay email address)

I have pulled them off eBay temporarily so people don't; order tonight expecting to be able to claim the rebate, but will put them back up after midnight.

  • Showing as back in stock

    • That is what the store rep said will happen, but you will not be able to claim the cashback of $19 :(

      • You can still claim if you've bought it on 31st July. I just got mine today and it was shipped with print out of the invoice. So all good.
Just submitted my claim online at Samsung fingers crossed

  • Anyone else finding their drive isn't genuine using the Samsung Magician?
