Thank you OP. Amazon should have a subscribe and save for non-stick fry pans, we seem to go through one every 6-9 months….

How to you wash/clean your fry pans?

    • And what temperature are you using? We've had this pan for a few years and it's not even scratched let alone damaged in anyway…

Never put a pan that is hot in to the sink, as in don't give them temperature shocks, and avoid going above "medium" temperature.

      • When the primary users of the fry pan are oldies who don't seem to give a flying truck about temperature shock or don't wash it immediately after use etc. My MIL thinks failed coatings aren't harmful. Yeah nah you can eat my share of the failed coating.

      • What is the medium temp? how do you grill steak on this Pan? Or what do you cook on it?

        • for best results use cast iron for steaks. you really want that sear on medium to high heat.

          • @ltwo: But I only want one for all, not cooking steak very often.

That why my pan needs replacement every 6-9 months

            • @SnoozeAndLose: Same. I'm Asian, and all those non-stick woks last 6 months, at best. Expensive or cheap.
So I decided to just stick to the cheap ones because it's easier that way.

              • @diazepam: Aldi one give 1-year warranty and some of the wok is 5 years and I got a replacement after 6 months of use

              • +1

                @diazepam: Buy one from IKEA

                5 Year Guarantee
Valid for all pots and pans with non-stick coating. This guarantee applies to domestic use only and covers function, materials and workmanship in all cookware in the above-listed series. It covers stability of the base, washing in a domestic dishwasher (with the exception of non-stick coated items or cast iron items, which should be washed by hand), and non-stick properties on non-stick pans. This guarantee does not cover changes in the appearance of the cookware unless they have a significant effect on function.

                • @spaceflight: Oh wow cheers.
I think it's only IKEA 365+ Cookware or TROVARDIG but even then that's good enough for me since I end up using them in like couple of months.
I dont even use metal utensils but it still ends up with scratches…
And I've bought lifetime warranty pots (>$200+) and they usually give a bullshit story like "oh you didnt wash it properly, or your heat was too high" and say claim denied. I've even had a claim rejected for using "metal utensils" when clearly it says metal utensil safe on the packaging. I think IKEA should be better to work with for warranty claims.

Anyway I generally buy OUMBÄRLIG because it's at a good price to quality ratio which doesn't come with any guarentee. I might consider getting the IKEA 365+ as a new set of pans.

          • @ltwo: Or anything that isn't non stick

    • use a gentle sponge when washing. dont use metal utensils on them. i put mine in the dishwasher and coating is still good after 18 months.

Get an enamel cast iron pan. I got one of the Aldi ones for $18, I don't think I'll ever buy a nonstick pan again.

    • Go lodge cast iron. Lasts a lifetime.
But weight may be an issue.

      • +1

lasts multiple lifetimes. I have one passed down from my grandpa.

  • +1

    thankyou, purchased one.

saw the 20cm one is also on sale too https://www.amazon.com.au/TEFAL-E91702-Gourmet-Frypan-Cookwa…
(unsure if this is good value, havent compared to other sites/prices)

    • +1

Too small, this one is 26cm and cheaper!

      • -1

if someday u want to sell it as scrap metal…

  • +4

    sadly, non-induction

    • -3

      It is induction as well.

      • "All Hobs excluding induction"

        • Not sure, the image says otherwise.

What happens when you put this on induction? Does it explode?

    • +1

get the IKEA one. similar price with the $10 discount. has Teflon Professional coating, 5 years warranty, induction.

  • I bought one, disposable pans.

    • Turns out I didn't order it … what the heck?

  • +1

    gone, it seems

  • Damn OOS, nice find though OP.

  • gone

  • May be of interest to some, but Harris Scarfe are also doing sales on their cookware including Tefal.

    • +9

You have to have some kind of bad luck if you go to a Harris Scarfe and they're not having a "sale"…

    • Its more rare that HS is not doing a sale.

  • Only 2 left in stock

    Someone prob canceled their order

  • +2

It's compatible with GAZ… Gary is gonna be stoked he can cook again!

  • How would this perform against the similarly priced titanium reinforced pro series? I find it so confusing to understand the differences.
    https://www.amazon.com.au/T-fal-ProGrade-Thermo-Spot-Dishwas…

    • titanium

      Seems pointless for a pan

  • damn missed it.

  • geeeezzzz. i bought it 70bucks at victoria basement. this is a 'pro' series too.

  • +4

Instead of buying non stick pans, next time try a plain stainless steel pan or even French skillet style iron pan.

The non stick coating isn’t the healthiest thing to cook on and will eventually break down requiring another purchase.

    • I own this exact pan and the centre where the red dot sits is no longer non stick. Owned it for about one year.

Although non stick is convenient for some things, stainless is the way to go as long as you know what you are doing.

Own 20cm, 26cm and 30cm Tefal Gourmet Frypans from The Good Guys via eBay for 1/2 price last year - November 2019 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/489013

And 28cm Tefal Gourment Wok from Myer last year - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/509231

Got to tell you this, they are brilliant stuff.

No more hard plastic handles on either pan or wok due to dangerous toxic.

  • oos :(

Damn there’s always something I need posted when I’m not on ozb. Bought this a few weeks ago for $40 off amazon, has been good so far used 2x a day every day and still looks new.

It did come with a chip in the coating though but I couldn’t be bothered complaining. It was packaged well in the box so the chip would have been there from their warehouse

  • purchased one tefal is most of my smartest choice this year

  • I am done buying utensils after investing in a set of Lodge cast iron set and a scanpan set.

    • +1

      Interesting about Lodge cast iron.

I will keep that in mind for future.
