Was it the video that did it? Video did kill the radio star

      • +1

        Yes, back in fifty-two…

  • What is this used for?

    • +16

A long time ago, far, far away in the Australian Outback, we used rolls of cellulose tape covered with silver halide crystals and used them to take photos of websites.

And that's how we generate the Ozbargain thumbnails, nowadays that's just an archaic method and we just press the LCD monitor to the flatbed scanner and upload the images onto the server.

      • This sounds like it should be an xkcd comic!

  • Do Airport xrays ruin film? Suddenly curious.

    • -1

only if it is x-ray film…

    • Usually not in cabin luggage (unless it's something like 1600 ISO), but likely to be damaged when checked in.

      • +1

Yup high iso 800 or more could be damage but anything lower no, except for those newer machine , the white capsule type … in Avalon what do they call them again ? … but you can always hand check with the staff no prob .

  • What year is it?

    • Haha 2020 FYI

  • this is so old I'm surprised it's not written as Kodak Gold XXIV

    • Hahaha

  • Thanks OP!

Should have no problem selling this in Australia's hipster capital.

    • Haha we hope so !!

  • Need some deals on 120 B/W film please!

    • Haha ok let us look into this !! What’s your fav film ?

      • Generally use Ilford 400 or Fomapan 100

        • Ilford is really suffering in term is supply chain , let me check fomapan 100 for ya

          • @FilmNeverDie: I'm just curious, why don't you stock Ilford b&w photographic paper?

          • @FilmNeverDie: Thanks, Foma is my favourite - it’s cheap and easy to process with Rodinol and gives a nice grain

  • +2

Look at all this demand! No wonder their stock price has skyrocketed.

    • I know you're joking, but that's a different company now making pharmaceutical products with a US government grant. The film division is owned by the pension company of the employees: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kodak_Alaris

    • The industry though has experience a growth since 2018, even Kodak mention they are 20% behind / short of the demand ! Films always sell out !! They have point to celebrity using film making it popular again , but sometime $25 for a disposable camera with 27 shots , you really don’t have to worry about carrying around $2000 camera hiking or going through unsafe cities while travelling .

  • Good price but I always preferred Fuji that ran more blue than red. Still got a stash in the fridge to get through 🙄

    • +1

Yup Kodak like it’s box will be more yellow / red and Fuji like it’s box will be more green/ blue haha

  • Where would you get this processed?

    • +8

      1990

      • +1

Or after 30 Sep 2020!! Lol stage 4 deems photo lab to close , we even get an mention on the age !! Haha

    • +1

I have not seen an inkjet printer with a slot for a roll of film for loading media.

    • +3

Mail it back to FilmNeverDie for processing.

      • Thanks !! :)

    • You can process with FilmNeverDie but stage 4 will mean that starting 6th of Aug we will need to close for 6 weeks, but after that we should be back stronger than ever !!

  • Laugh now (I am lol) but it wouldn't surprise me if this becomes an "investment" of sorts for the usual old stuff coming into fashion or being rare again.

    • Doubt it unless Kodak Gold somehow becomes trendy, it isn't really that good of a film stock compared to more conveted ones that Kodak themselves have stopped making.

    • Definitely happened with 30mm cameras, certain models have hyperinflated prices suck as the k1000 and ae1. Both good cameras but treated like they're the only models.

      • Yeah definitely camera , like the Contax T2 use to be $500 now $2000, after Jennifer Kendal bring it on the Ellen show .

  • Anyone thats getting this shipped beyond 10km is better buying it from amazon if they have prime. $22 shipped for 3 rolls. Also $20 for ultramax.

    • Good point !!
