    performs better outdoors in sunlight

How well does it perform in the bedroom?

    • +4

Continuous heart rate monitor so you can see when your heart rate was at its peak and how long. Not to mention the calories burned and being waterproof.

It is a fitness smartwatch afterall.

      • +2

Waterproof aye? wink Useful for us bedwetters.

        • +3

Or those keeping sharp objects in their waterbeds.

    • That depends on how you perform in the bedroom

  • Am-as-fit or am-ass-fit?

  • Dam it! I paid $115 from Aliexpress for the orange/blue Bip S over two months ago and it hasn't arrived yet.

    • +1

My AliExpress deliveries are currently taking 3 months

      • That's reassuring. The tracking says: "Despatched to OverSeas Postal Admin (From SG/SIN to AU/MEL)" that was on the 12th of July. I'm assuming that means its on the ship and is now sailing to Australia. They are normally good, 30-40 days max from China to Aus but Covid must be causing delays.

  • Not sure about the credebility of this website but better price (shipping?) : https://www.tecobuy.com/en_AU/xiaomi-amazfit-bip-s-internati…

    • $82 AU with standard shipping. With GeekBuying it's already cheaper with cashback and includes free priority shipping.

      • AUD $87.11 after input coupon code..not $84.23

cashback is not always guaranteed to track

        • I say it everytime. Is that PayPal's exchange rate? It's inflated so they make a profit. As per my post, the AU$ is based off the current Mastercard rate at the time of posting that you can calculate here.

As long as you show up in the click history on CR you'll be fine as you'd be able to make a claim if you made a mistake and it didn't track. Fortunately according to the affiliate console there is a huge number of tracked purchases coming from CR with a tiny tiny tiny fraction not tracking in the course of a year. Though often that tiny percentage is because they get attributed to someone else, e.g. Honey.

          • @Clear: actually it is geekbuying AUD exchange rate since I just click proceed to checkout
never picked any payment method yet..

need to change the geekbuying to USD to get charged 59.99 USD…

Anyway not sure if bip S or miband 5…which is better?

The screen on the bip S looks quite dull compared the AMOLED of the miband 5

  • Quick google search shows cheaper price at $82 here:

    https://www.tobydealsau.com/en_AU/product/xiaomi-amazfit-bip…

    • +1

Marginally. A true OzBargainer would use cashback and can score this for $81.88 making it even cheaper than tobydeals.

      • I got mine from TobyDeals. Ordered end june and 3 weeks later it was here. Have worn it since and am very happy with it. I did buy another band (with more breathing holes as I didn't like the one that came with it. Just hoping it keeps on working and has no defects as I don't think the warranty will be as good.

        • Where did you get the band from?

        • 5-8 business days with GeekBuying so the shipping is pretty much the same or quicker.

      • Ok, revoked the neg on account of your quickwit lol.

        • Something I've been known for around here :P

    • I bought one from Toby's a couple of days ago. It's been shipped and has just left HK. If this deal was available then, I would have grabbed this - although, what does "priority shipping' mean?

Excited to get it and try it out (I've used pebbles and ticwatch in the past)

Also like this colour scheme better

      • 5-8 business day shipping from dispatch. It's part of the Auspost China agreement so it'll be couriered to Australia via UBI and then express posted in AU. Has the Auspost label on it so you'll get the message about it being onboard and whether or not there is a safe place to leave. Infact in my experience Auspost send me an email when it's left China everytime.

  • Hi OP can I just ask what's the difference between
Amazfit Bip 2 and Amazfit Bip S? Or are they the same thing?

Does Bip 2 exist? Is Bip S the latest ?

    Thank u

    • +3

Bip S is the latest and was released in January 2020. The Bip 2 was an improved version of the original Bip but not by much and wasn't around for very long.

      • Cheers! Thank you for that.

    • you have the first gen: BIP and BIP Lite - IP68, no swim tracking - lite has no gps
then second gen is BIP S and BIP S lite - 5atm and swim tracking - lite has again no gps

Sometimes you see bip youth (is the lite) or bip 2 (should be the s) - but those are just wrong naming

here's the official site with all details
      https://en.amazfit.com/

I was waiting for the Amazfit Ares-but got a good deal on TB so took the BIP S
ares is a rugged version of the BIP S -> think it ha smore trackings

      • does the company that makes amazfit also make the miband for xiaomi?

the software of both looks exactly the same

also would you get the bip s or miband 5 or wait for the next one?

do you buy directly from taobao?
how much is shipping + price cost and is it much cheaper?

  • If only it had a notification icon on the homescreen :(

    • what are you talking about?

      • You get an alert for a notification (call, WhatsApp, etc) but if you miss that .. there is no notification icon on the homescreen. You have to go digging through the menus to check if you missed anything.

Have a look at the homescreen screenshots . Battery icon, Bluetooth icon .. missing notification icon .. like many of these smartphones and trackers

        • oic

well this is more of a fitness tracker than a smartwatch so you can't expect too much for this price

          • @pinkybrain: Yea just sucks .. seems so obvious and easy to add for the manufacturer

            • @matt-ozb: there isn't anything to stop them
since it is just a software/firmware update..
unless they want to differentiate their products

              could try contacting them

  • I don't suppose it has a SOS button? Looking for one that does :)

  • +2

    There's no other colour options?

    • yeah this color does not look appealing to me..

      more colours would be good.

      • agree. need more colours

  • Any deal on Xiaomi mi band 4 or 5?

    • +1

      which is better?

Amazfit Bip S or Miband 5?

  • Hi OP, is there a function to vibrate on hourly basis?
