"buy and sell on ebay for extra hundred dollars"

    not everyone is a scalper

    • +2

..yeh but theres hell of a lot more around here these days

      • +1

And there is a heap of them on Ozbargain from what I have seen….

  • +6

Don't bother. It's on the shelves at quite a few places.

    • Risk on store shopping is bloody high in VIC

        tell these idiots:
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/555713

the one "try2bhelpful (to spread the virus)" in particular!

"They held us in the line, for ages, just letting a whole lot of people leave then let us in in dribs and drabs. When I got inside there weren’t many people there"

    • Did you get any pianos yesterday?

      • Didn't try. It's RRP why bother

        • Exclusively on Lego.com

          • +1

@qzcbmo: It'll have a decent life span, may make it's way to stores

“could be a bargain buy and sell on ebay for extra hundred dollars”
Then you pay $200 in eBay fees…

    • and shipping unless somebody can pick-up, and hope it doesn't get sent back as "not as described, dust on the box" becasue they found one cheaper elsewhere.

I have too many sealed lego sets that sre still sealed that my son has outgrown, and on Ebay people get shocked for postage costs, or you need to find local buyer …..

      • Try the LEGO Facebook groups - easily will sell most sets. Or PM me with your sets. I might buy some

Cant afford Lambo, and sad to say that i dont even have a budget spent for the Lego version one

  • read some reviews on this, some reported that they missing some pieces, halting them from completing the car, cant claim because they didnt buy it from the official lego store.. thought?

    • +8

BS, Lego do not care nor check where you purchased it from.

      • +1

        This.

I had to get a part from Lego recently for one of my Overwatch sets. I accidentally sent the request twice and got two of the same pieces in the mail a few weeks later.

      • That's good news. I have received one but didn't want to build it but neither did I want to resell it as the whole missing parts issue…

Bigger problem is pretty bad colour variation on this set. Some of the pics I've seen would leave me pretty annoyed after dropping $600 on a flagship set.

      • Oof. Yeah. Thanks. I'll wait a while and see if they sort it out.

        • +2

I'm waiting too due to this. It's been out of stock for a while now on lego.com so I'm wondering if they have pulled the model till they get the colour variations sorted. From some of the pictures I've seen it's quite a difference in colour and LEGO being typically very stringent on their quality control I'm surprised this has happened. The GT3 & Chiron sets were available for quite some time and there was some good specials on them so I'm just going to wait it out.

I’ve got 3 Porsche GT3s in unopened boxes as I thought they would be an “investment “. But LEGO kept pumping them out.

    Not making that mistake again.

    • +6

what are you on about? GT3 is retired and you would be making pretty decent profit on them.

    • +1

What are you taking about. If you got them on sale then they’ve gone up in price quite a bit. PROFIT!!!

    • -1

Sold my last gt3 for $800. Nice profit.

      • Luckily I got mine pre COVID and paid "only" $550. Even then it hurt a bit, no way I could part with $800 for it even though it is a great set.

    • The GT3 has almost doubled in value. What are you on about?

    • I'll buy 3 @ $450ea then? ;)

This is a joke, don't banhammer me.. Although for $1k profit, like a true ozbargainer, it would be worth it :p

    • +1

i was a sucker for the "investment" idea too, so bought in 2016. then noticed vendors were continuing to pump units onto the market. thought, bugger, what a fool. will open the boxes and start constructing. after i start the 50 or so free udemy courses i signed up to. of course none of that happened.

these comments have drawn my attention back to lego as some prices have climbed to $850 per box. whaaaat when did that happen??? once bitten…

      • Lego re-releases sets periodically, as most collectors know, only time people seem to pay crazy prices is Christamas as they need the set as a gift, and then there is slim supply …. if people can wait, they want a bargain.

The fact it's for sale on Ebay at a crazy price, means nobody has bought it, because it's a crazy price. Check the last selling price for one that had no reserve and sold at auction vs buy it now and sits there for a long time.

Once a group has bought a set, demand drops and goes off the market. They are rereleased later when enough new demand exists, hence sets that cost adult money ….

Only things to disappear for ever is things Spongebob, not on morning TV anymore so kids don't know it. Release spongebob again, not sure how many you'd sell.

Was about to say the same as they have a free shipping option.

      • Might just want a little bit longer Shopforme may have 10% discount sale.

The handbag is the highlight of this set

    • That must be Sian's.

Not sure why she takes her footstool everywhere with her either.

  • Not even a deal I would say
