Some motherboard only supports up to 32 GB so do check that before you buy

Perfect for Cyberpunk 2077 if it ever gets released.

  • Do people put 64gb in consumer socket systems? I understand a 4x16G kit for HEDT/TR systems, 2x32G seems like it's going to be selling into a small market… maybe that's why it's discounted so much.

Yep. There's a host of reasons for 64 or 128GB - usual are mathematical modelling, CAD, routing and of course, VMs

      • I understand that but I don't think there's too many people doing that on consumer level dual channel machines. Professionally they would normally be doing that HEDT/TR systems that need 4 DIMMs, at home you would be more concerned about cost and gaming performance even if you were doing these things as a student.
