  • Highly recommended.
I have owned a hikvision and a swann before but recommend these.

The cameras are good built quality,, app is really great, notifications and alerts are great.
Tech support is very prompt wiht their replies.

I have a 4k version and really happy with that.

    • Which one do you have?

    • first time i see someone has recommended reolink . Anyone else can share thr experience ?

      • +1

I do, I'm using D800s and happy with it

I've installed hikvision at work and thought I would try reolink at home because it was the "right price". I haven't had the reolink very long, but so far I like it. The mobile app is way better than the awful crap that hikvision has made (always having connection issues).

The main issue with the reolink cameras is their awful FOV on everything except the 4K bullet (B800) The main issue with the B800 and D800 is that they don't have ONVIF access, so you can't add them to Blueiris etc. Honestly I feel that if they had a wide FOV or maybe a better range of lense options for their cameras they would be amazing for the price.

        • Google Neolink if you want to add them to blueiris etc but agree the FOV is narrow but I got alot and mounted higher then avg houses that I get nice views and no blindspots. App is the best I've used and I've had hik and dauha the frustration drive me to reolink. Wishing they realase a doorbell type camera

      • I have reolink cameras throughout my house and can vouch for their quality.
Mind you I have the POE 5mp cameras

  • is it possible the get the cameras in black ?

  • With the app, is this affected by the basic plan of 1 camera per account or not as it's an NVR setup?

    • 1 camera per account is only for cloud recording, yes you will need to pay to cloud record more than 1. Otherwise I have 4 cameras with Google Home integration and no NVR.

    • +1

Hi, 1 camera per account, but an account supports multiple cameras or NVRs, no need of subscribing to any plan.

      • Can you please explain a bit more.

So 1 camera for cloud recording per account. You can choose any cam for this - also one connected to your NVR?
If you have an NVR with 4 (or more) camera's - you can still access via the app but just can't do cloud recording on more than 1 camera.
Can cloud recording be combined with NVR recording, or is it just 1 you have to choose?
The app connects directly to your own NVR, so you can also rewind and look at previous footage etc?

        • +2

To use cloud you need to have a compatible cameras. They ones they sell in kits with NVR can not be used for cloud or GA/Alexa. Cloud based cameras (generally WiFi and 4G ones) need a subscription when adding more then 1 camera. Alll NVR footage can be viewed locally or remotely from the nvr no subscription or even a reolink account is needed for this, a 4cam kit comes with a 2tb hdd which is good for about 6days of recording. A total of 8gb can be added to the NVR (4gb internal sata and 4gb estata). You can't cross cloud and nvr no point really since if you want a larger backup you can create a ftp server. Footage on the nvr can be remote watched if it's all on the same subnet, if you have a vlan set up you will need to set up a vpn to remote access your cameras

  • Any deals on the dome version?

  • Hi OP, any deals for a RLK16-410B8 system but with RLC-410 (5MP) as the cameras?
    https://reolink.com/au/product/rlk16-410b8/#specifications

I noticed that the B500 (5MP) cameras in said system are different from the RLC-410 (5MP) e.g. edge recording via microSD card feature.

    • +1

Sorry we don't have such model. If you connect the cams with NVR, you have the same features using RLC-410-5MP or B500. Note: B500 has to work with NVR otherwise some features are not accessible meanwhile RCL-410-5MP can work alone.

      • Ah I see, thanks for the info.
In this case, when would there be a deal for the RLC-410 (5MP)?
Are there any further deals, if going for 8x of these?

  • i have got b800 and got 6 running for last 3 weeks and happy so far

  • Something I didn't realise until it was pointed out, email notifications doesn't always mean you get a photo capture sent via email. Sometimes it just a single line of text letting you know the camera recorded something.

Which one does this unit do ?

    • +2

Hi, you can set it in your APP. You can choose text, images or videos. If you choose images, but receive none, probably the internet is not good so the image isn't sent successfully.

  • Are Reolink and Swann the same company? They have identical apps (mobile and desktop) as well as physical cams.

  • +1

Nice but waiting for a 4K system deal i.e..RLK8-800B4 plus additional D800.

  • I have been using 4x B800 cameras come in RLK8-800B4 system. The quality is best, app is very user friendly. The only issue is storage capacity of 2TB, you can hardly save 7-8 days of recordings in it.

    • +1

Seems it is possible to upgrade the existing internal drive to 4Tb and maybe add an additional 4Tb alongside it. Don't know if the OS resides on the drive (therefore you'd have to 'clone' the original to the new HDD) or if the OS is on a chip on the motherboard.
Is it not possible to set 24/7 recording to be 1080p and motion detected events to 4K to reduce storage used?

      • +1

        Hi,

yes you can expand the internal and add an eternal one , note eternal needs external power source as well
        Internal hdd doesnot store os

  • Hey guys,
Did anyone here from Ozb purchase this deal earlier this month and have already set it up?
Any feedback on the quality of the 5mp camera at night time?
    Thanks
