256gb 5G version. Standard Telstra migration terms etc… Please check comments, these type of deals have been running for a while.

I didn't ask about the pre-order bonus of the Galaxy Buds Live, but from previous experience (and as you are pre-ordering) it should be available: Ill update when I can confirm.

  • can pay out ETC after a few months like previous phones?

    • Erc would be half of the cost of the plan.

So 1200 total plan over 12 months (rounding up) would mean about 600 as etc.

So cost of the phone is 1099+600=1700

Still quite expensive for me tbh.

      • ETC used to be $390 as I remember last. When did it become half of the Plan price?

        • +2

It's always been like that; but you're referring to a $65 plan.

          $65 x 12 months = $780, half that is $390.

This one is a $99 plan, so $594 for the ETC.

  • +8

Almost got very excited - other than the $99 plan :(

  • Can the $600 gift card be used towards the cost?

    • Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer?

    • I think they are two promotions and can't be used together, or otherwise, it is a steal.

    • Posted this on the fly, sorry for the lack of details.

$900 off the phone INSTEAD of the $500 gift card.

  • +18

Why is it $900 off? where is the logic in this? you basically pay upfront and be on the expensive plan.
You don't even get free earbud.

    • Are you sure it doesn't come with the free headphones?

      • -3

@Thefong, well based on the ads photo, I can't see it, can you?

        • +2

Doesn't say anywhere it doesn't and the Samsung website said as long as you preorder from a participating retailer you get it.

          • @Thefong: To anyone who sign up, you better make sure that you get this from the participating retailer.

            • @kml22: They definitely get the free galaxy buds live. Have to redeem by the 20th of August.

          • -4

@Thefong: So when the earbuds don’t come with it, your argument is going to be “but it didn’t say it didn’t come with it”???

    • +2

All these JB + Telstra deals are, all the same, have been for years.

      People are stupid.

      • +7

Except for the Pixel 2 XL $49 a month plan. That was great.

  • -2

Seems pretty good value considering the high cost of the plan.

  • +1

The Note 20 Ultra RRP is $2k. So it is good value from that perspective. Personally and true to being an OzBargainer, go for the Samsung Tab S6 at $799 at Bing Lee atm and any Android phone. I think there should be changes left.

    • +1

      being an OzBargainer

I used the same deal and got PB with OW for $759

      • I did that as well, lol… Was a bit of a wait on the phone.

  • is there a photo of the offer from store?

  • I got the Note last year on a 12 month contract with Telstra.
Now for me to get this offer I need to port to another provider before going back to Telstra. Does anyone know if there is a specific amount time/days that I would need to do this to be eligible?

    • +3

If they even look, it's generally a 30 day period being away from Telstra for you to be eligible

  • Would you able to sign up on website? lock down Melbourne JB closed..

    • Well, go ahead and let us know if you can

    • Nup, not possible. Might change, but not yet.

  • link doesnt say anything about the $99 plan.

    still, over 12 months, that's $2287 in a year. $1099 upfront.

this is for someone not on contract, who wants to pay the first 50% of a full price ultra note 5g, then the rest in instalments.

aka $99 telstra plan is heavily discounted for those 12 months inc calls, texts and whatever data is included the plan.

good deal for those above who fit that criteria. (might join in october when mine expires, but waiting for asus rog phone 3)

  • Samsung EPP is only $400 more and devided by 12 months it's basically $35 per month. Telstra has $65/month sim only no lock-in contract plan for 80gb of data.

Even I think 80g is a lot of data a month

So unless you really need 150g mobile data every month, I cannot see this is worth it

    • You don't get free galaxy live buds though

  • so save 300 off rrp if factor in the 600 gc you could have gotten

Is it just me or are phone prices costing an arm and a leg

  • Buds Included in this deal and i was also offered $10 off the $99 per month.

    • +1

You went in-store or over the phone?

      • was offered at the Maccarthur central Brisbane store.

    • How did you manage to get the $10 credit? Was it over the online chat?

      • was offered at the Maccarthur central Brisbane store.

  • also waiting if I can avail over the phone as stores are closed at the moment.

    • $600GC, $99/month, min 12months (unlicall+unlitext, 150gb data per month)
      $400GC, $69/month, min 12months (unlicall+unlitext, 60gb data per month)
      $100GC, $49/month, min 12months (unlicall+unlitext, 30gb data per month)

are we able to use this JB Hifi GCs in this for the Note 20 JBHifi Telstra offerings?

  • +1

According to this ETC is only $594

That means this phone could possibly cost you only $1792 (1099 + 99 + 594) after one month service with Telstra or $2287 (1099 + [12*99]) after 12 months service with Telstra both on the $99 plan

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

    BTW, you can also get:

    • Note 20 5G 256GB for $749 outright + $99 p/m for 12 months for a total of $1937
    • Note 20 4G 128GB for $599 outright + $99 p/m for 12 months for a total of $1787
    • Note 20 Ultra 4G 256GB for $949 outright + $99 p/m for 12 months for a total of $2137
  • Hi guys. Sorry, I know this has been asked before but can't find out if this is still the case.
I have a Telstra small business plan that has 2 x monthly $50 p/m numbers. They were on another 2 yeat plan with s8, which we rolled over to monthly when it expired.

So, I'm interested in this deal. I have a optus prepaid I could migrate, but want to have THIS plan on my MAIN mobile number.

Is there anyway for this to be done?

    • From previous threads, if you port your number out to another provider for 24 hours then go in and sign up you'll be fine. It's normally meant to be 30 days.

When they ask who its with you tick the box of another provider, and my understanding is they can't tell how long it's been away in their system…

      • +1

Thats not correct. When they punch in your mobile number in the system, they can see it was on Telstra till 30 days. It used to work previously, but not anymore. I faced this couple of months back. But if JBHifi staff miss to see you haven't ported out for 30 days, it can work. What I was told that if they put in despite you being not more than 30 days away, Telstra can reject the plan later on and it will charged back to JBHifi, but usually Telstra doesn't do that.

  • Thanks for that. From what I've read, port can take anywhere from same day to a week which is what I'm trying to avoid.
    Anybody with real live experience?

    • Ports generally happen in the same hour if it's Mon-Fri

  • The buds are avail at most retailers be suprised if you can't get them here ?

  • +3

For those of you who are considering this deal, I signed up at my local JB today. Their internal PDS states that the plan is eligible for the $10 per month credit which was applied at the time of provisioning the new service, meaning that the new monthly cost is $89. I also had an existing Telstra pre paid number that I wanted to use, but because of the conditions of the plan I was unable to upgrade the service, so I just obtained a new service number, and once I got home, I got online to the chat team and requested that my pre-paid number be ported over to replace the newly allocated number which was no drama at all. Whole process was completed in less than two hours. Also can confirm that the buds live deal is applicable with the deal also, all you need to do is upload your JB receipt which is issued when you pay the $1099 for your device.

    • Great to hear that you managed to port your PP number.
Was it with Telstra directly or through another provider like Boost?

I was on Boost and I had to change to Lebara now and I'm going to sign up any day now. I just didn't want to do ut it immediately in case they see I had just left Boost.

One rep in JB told me I have to wait 3 months after I had left Boost but I know some have done it in like a day

    • Can anyone else confirm if they were able to sign up to a new mobile and then move their existing Telstra number to that plan?

  • +1

    Sharing my experience.

I signed up yesterday after porting out to Lebara for a few days.

I didn't have an issue for being outside Telstra for less than 30 days

Got the Ultra and going to pick up this Friday along with the buds live

I used up a couple of GCs to pay which brought the total to $879

I also preordered a case from Samsung store as I'm scared to use this beast without a case especially with that big ass camera bump

  • +1

Jb seem not so sure, is it too late to get the deal with the buds live? One JB said yes another said no that was preorder only.

  • +1

please is the free Live Buds offer still available?
    Cheers

  • I think this offer is expired, the link brings to the page with the normal prices

  • how does it work?
I just walk in the store and ask for a $900 discount and the Telstra plan?
Sounds too good to be true!
    Thanks for advice.
    Please could ELI5?
