  • 5 KN95 masks for $19 at Bunnings seems like a better deal, unless there's something very special about the Softmed brand.

    • +2

Special being made in china at a low cost and someone along the chain profits over the price rises.
It costs very little to make masks in China.

It's amazing how much Australian companies are related to China for import export all mostly in Victoria too.

      • And your point is…

          Profits over human health.

    • Probably the only ozbargainer who has even been to Baoji. Fun fact spent Chinese New Year in January there!

      • How was it? What were you doing there?

        Was corona virus rampent?

        • +2

Industrial city about an hour of Xi'an and 900km from Wuhan.

No, Not even in lock down yet (end of January) but fear had set in and businesses were slowly being forced to close down.

They let Chinese New Year (mass migration) go forward before ringing the alarm bells…

At least you are safe back home now.

@Turd: Safe back in Melbourne? Would of been better riding it out over there with an even harder lockdown. Xi'an and Baoji back to normal.

@humperdoo: haha true.. melbourne gov fked up.

  • People were complaining about the Australian made p2 masks 50pk for $120. It’s so much better value than this as well as locally made

  • This Baoji company's website - https://www.baojitaidakang.com/products/

    • Same song-and-dance routine. Website claims the masks are "FDA approved".

      • Yep. Pretty much.

It up to yourself to determine the risk when you want to buy these masks.

  • Where are the Australian made mask?I thought there were several factories across Australia started manufacturing them as early as March this year.

  • It’s a shame the Aussie ones don’t have the two elastic straps and proper suction around the face, but they’ll still be a lot more effective than the cheap blue ones or homemade fabric ones.

  • China create virus. Spread it world wide. Sell millions of masks and sanitizers to the world and buy businesses on their knees. Perfect business model.
