[NSW] Free Tree up to $40 for Sydney Metro Region Residents

1960

As a part of the Greening our City Premier's Priority, you can now apply for free tree(s) via the NSW Planning Portal. The Premier’s Priority is to plant one million trees in Greater Sydney by 2022.

Planting one million trees will provide more shade, cleaner air and more beautiful places to live.

To reach the one million trees target we need individuals like you to play a part and plant trees in your own backyard. The Free Tree Giveaway makes trees from Bunnings available to the first 8,750 households in Greater Sydney to apply.

Got the voucher over two weeks ago, and have not heard a peep from Bunnings

    • Is the voucher from bunnings or NSW ?

I got the voucher by email from [email protected] 2 weeks ago, and had heard nothing.

    It says

Order processing takes approximately 7 to 10 working days.

You will be called when the goods arrive.

Please note, you have 7 days from that call to collect the goods. If you do not pick up the goods within 7 days of confirmation, the order will be cancelled

Just in case I had missed a phone call, and was nearing the 7 day deadline I called my local bunnings. They confirmed they had a bunch of free tree orders and my voucher was on their list, but hadn't got the stock in yet, they expected next week at the earliest.

    • Bunnings got stock in for the citrus trees and sent out an sms. Picked mine up yesterday.

Recieve order but Bunnings not calling for pickup, then when calling up told order has been cancelled. Dont know if im the only one but seems like a taxpayer funded bunnings cashgrab.

  • There is a note you need to pickup within 7 days from Bunnings once you recieved an email from them else they can cancel.

    • •The order has been sent to Bunnings Thornleigh Warehouse.

•Order processing takes approximately 7 to 10 working days.

•You will be called when the goods arrive.

      • Thanks but the key is: you will be called.

        • On the email i recieved from bunnings regarding pickup, it wasnt mention they will call.
It only states that you need to pick up in 7 days upon recieved of email. I actually read the email on the 7th day, and i call them up to say i cant pick up on weekdays and ask to pick up on weekend and they said its ok.

When i arrive for pick up there is a name tag on the plant itself.

Each bunnings may have different ways of doing things.

  • Have not heard a single peep from Bunnings, a very poorly run promotion. 7 to 10 days they say.. don't think so.. been over 3 weeks since receiving the voucher, might never get it

Just a heads up for anyone who might have missed out they seem to have reopened applications. I just saw a post from the NSW government Facebook page.

Still haven't been contacted by Bunnings Castle Hill, it's been 2 months…

    • I've been contacted by my local bunning but order has not come in - I'm moving house tomorrow so it's going to be a pain to come back and get the tree if and when it comes in :)

  • Picked up my lemon tree from Bunnings Minchinbury. I got an email telling me to come in and pickup, no phone call.
