@Archi: Well, I tried it and didn't work. It got alot of upvotes, so I thought it worked for them.

I also tried 54RC5M from another user that messaged me but that didn't work either.

$440 for custom plates, 20% off is $352 !! But why to pay for something you won’t even look at while driving.

Rather buy $3 car freshener? Looks good and smells great

    • you can admire it everytime you get in and out of your car. Also you can admire it when you hear yourself say it to some random clerk over the phone when you give out your car rego

I’m still wondering when did I saw my “normal” plates !! Time to checkin and say Hi for saving $440

      • Not on a 1986 Toyota ..

What a great idea! Now my fellow commuters can know my initials and year of birth. Or maybe I can lash out and get something cool and original like "THE ST1G" or "2FAST4U". That'll make them laugh!

  • COVID-19 available?

I saw a plate "KAR3NS" or something like that today… didn't think it was a badge of honour but they did :P

They wouldn’t issue it until she spoke to The Manager

  • Yay! Been waiting for this to come around, thanks.

  • Damn. OZBRGN has been ozbargained.

Keep in mind that unless you are grandfathered in, new plates carry an annual fee in NSW, even if it is a combination that you could theoretically be assigned randomly.
The combination I want is available, doesn't break any standard rules and I'd happily pay a modest sum for it, but since they want to charge a yearly fee for it, they get zero of my dollars instead.

    • Agree they just being money hungry charging extra for this

    • +1

tell me more about these "grandfathered" plates…

      • There was a time when you could select “standard” combinations and not be charged a fee. This would have been when the plates business was not privatised.
If you were to do the same selection today, an annual fee would apply.

        • what?! not annual fees after a 1-time purchase?
          wow.

  • If I had a good car like a Prius or a Tesla, I'd buy it.

My dream car is a Prius, because it's environmentally friendly and people will think I am a rich tech-CEO.

    • your perception of what a car says about a person is vastly different to what another person may think…

      Prius >>>> rich tech-CEO, i don't think so

      • Prius >>>> rich tech-CEO, i don't think so

You've clearly never lived in USA or been to Silicon Valley.

Jeff Bezos is the richest man in the world and turns up to work in a 7 year old Honda ACcord.

  • CUTE RANGE

Since when? Younger me would have been all over having a unicorn on my custom plates, but not in 2020.

This is awesome, I always miss out on the deals for new plates! Happy I finally got it :)

    • in a most unozbargain way, i have determined to take part on this offer :-)
got the combination i wanted and will have buyers remorse every year as i pay that yearly fee :-)

      • Hey Ozlam , I bought plates as well (Thanks MV97) and I too will have buyers remorse every year.

But look at it this way, every year we will have 364 Days of Awesomeness, and 1 Day of remorse !!!
