I want the 32GB version of this, but it seems to have supply issues ATM.

    • Ditto!

    • This is a 4x8GB Micron e-die OC: https://i.redd.it/8z19coz68ws31.png

3800c16 for 32GB seems pretty good to me.

Why not buy two of these kits?

      • Potentially only 2 ram slots?

      • Damn you're lucky 1900 FCLK on a 3900X.

Your tWR, tRC and tWTR_L look a little high though.

        • It's not mine. It's a random reddit post.

          I have 1900 on a 3800x though.

          • @drew442: Ah. Their subs are terrible lol.

      • Yeah, ITX system. I'm borderline ready to order https://www.newegg.com/global/au-en/p/pl?d=F4-3600C16D-32GTZ… with the free shipping deal, but its a lot of moolah. about 80$ bucks cheaper than locally however.

        • 16-16-16-36 is probably b-die. 32G is probably dual rank.

It would probably normally sell for twice that price. I paid that much for 16G a couple of weeks ago.

          • @drew442: Yep, its the best 32gb price/perf kit I can find in a pair, it's just justifying the cost to myself, haha. My 3950X boots at 3800, but I haven't done any serious work around stability testing at that speed.

            • @Mael5trom: 3800c14 would be nice with 1900 fclk.

I'm using a prime x570-p and the OC recovery isn't great. If i'm too hard on the memory timing then it'll say OC fail but working on fclk and it's a manual cmos clear and it makes the whole thing really annoying, especially with the PC on the floor. I should run some wires to a momentary switch and clear header so I can work on it a little easier.

              • @drew442: I was in the same boat when I initially got this machine (MSI B450i), you literally cant get a hand in anywhere to access the CMOS switch, it was a case of disassemble the PC, which being my first ITX machine (ncase M1) took me almost 5 hours on the initial build, I wasn't exactly impressed when the board didn't recover, so I ran a small switch to the CMOS header that I could wire outside the case when I was doing some overclocking.

                • @Mael5trom: Yeah, that was probably more annoying than my setup. I should have a reset button out of an old case that i can use for the job…

            • @Mael5trom: I paid for 2 2x8gb kits with the exact 16-16-16-36 timings from umart for a total of $300. It isnt dual rank 16gb sticks but for $100 saved i took the risk and its paid off nicely 66.3ns AIDA latency stock XMP (3600 cl6) and 64.3 ns at 3733 cl16 (identical xmp timings set, didnt use 3800mhz as 1900 fclk wasn't stable).

Tempted for 3733 cl4 but regardless of 4x8gb or 2x16gb, the voltage needed for tight timings is not safe. Only 2x8gb can realistically go for 3800cl14 unless God binned bdie

              • @NigerianGirthLord: what model number memory? yeah your a bit more restricted as you go up in size, I have some old 2x8GB B-die in it ATM I bought with a Ryzen 1700 when it launched and its done me solid, but 16GB just isn't enough for what i'm doing now.

                • @Mael5trom: F4-3600C16D-16GVK and I'm using 32gb but in 8gb sticks. It is the same b-die bin and ic as the trident z neos, just didn't pay the rgb tax

  • very tempting to get more 3600MHz ram at this price.
Racing stripe red is the only colour ram to have the drop in price - guess popular preference is sleek black or some RGB bumping up the others!

How does this kit compare to the G.Skill Ripjaws V 2x8GB 3600CL16 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/557225) you posted a few days ago?

      • This kit is Micron Rev.E while that one is Hynix CJR. It should have better subtimings to boot and the ability to overclock further.

  • Awesome can't wait for my covid lockdown deliveries :)

3200 cl16 was going for 140 minimum a few months back, glad to see things are getting more reasonable.

Hi guys - starting to look at building a new system. How is this compared to this deal (will be using it for gaming primarily, read Cyberpunk!: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/555196

Also could you please advise a good mobo to go with it (and whether I am able to OC this ram? Am looking at a Ryzen build and the new 3xxx gpus.

    Thanks for your feedback.

  • My order hasn't shipped yet but there is an expected deivery date of the 4th September .

  • Arrived today a week early and worked straight off the bat @3600 C16 in an X370/2600 . Very happy .

    • Just arrived, looks like it came from Milano. Default XMP didn't boot. Backing it off with XMP and 3533mhz was stable. Running ASRock B450M Pro4 and Ryzen 3600.

Any tips on what I could try to get it to 3600mhz? Or should I return it? Feels like a bit of hassle though given 3533mhz runs fine

      • Sorry I can't help . I didn't have to change anything on my sons Gigabyte board . Maybe check that the voltage is at the required 1.35 volts . I know my Asus board has to have the voltage bumped up manually .

        • Thank you, will give that a go tomorrow. In mind mind I just assumed XMP settings also include the voltage. Assumptions are dangerous!

        • Guess I've got a bad one. I have reset BIOS, updated to the latest BIOS 4.30. And confirmed voltage was set to 1.35v. A bit of a headache to try to return this. sigh

      • And update your bios .

        • Thank you. Yes this issue was present when the UEFI is the up to date.
