doesn’t take much to spend $100 and under 40 kg during lockdown , in Vic , in theory we are limited to 5 km radius for shopping. Bunnings are doing click and collect, if you have power pass card you can go inside.

40 kg limit might be due to OH&S …..safer for 1 person to deliver and social distance.

It is good with delivery, I guest.
Last time when I bought a ladder and pick it up at their Footscray store. The staff made a photocopy of my driver licence and stored it with the copy of their receipt. I felt violated. They should sight my ID to verify who I am only rather than storing it.
I made a complaint online but never got their responses.

    • Yes, they should not be doing that. It was not even large amount of fertiliser.

  • New help; I'm tempted to buy a chainsaw (cheapest one because I've never used one and I have no arm strength to lift them).

I need to cut big, thick trees and weeds/scrubs in my yard. And branches above my head (think roof and above height: 3m?). Does ever such a piece of garden equipment exist where it's like a chainsaw but has much longer reach?

The pole saws don't seem to cut more than 16mm which is definitely not enough. I need to cut these thick branches (like, if you were to form a circle with your fingertips just touching. That kind of thickness and thicker). Couple of years ago I had a big weed-like tree cut down in my yard to the stump but within 6 months it grew back. And it's spread to my other trees too-killing those trees as well. Now it's bigger than ever and I don't know how to get rid of it for good. It has a mix of thick fingertip-touching-thickness branches and these really long thin (like 17mm) branches that grow just everywhere!!

What else do I need for a chainsaw besides gloves, eye and ear protection? Should I get a petrol or cordless one? How do you even start it?? Do they ALL require you to pull a cord because I seriously won't be able to do it.

This is not really an appropriate place to ask, especially given your comment contains no less than six separate questions. Best to post a new forum topic here.

That being said there is a long reach chainsaw. It's called a pole saw/pruner. The only problem is that the chainsaw is small. A Bunnings search for "pole saw" will get you started.

As far as removing the tree permanently is concerned, after cutting it down to a stump as close to the ground as possible, common techniques include:

      • Digging it out
      • Using a stump grinder
      • Using stump removal chemicals
      • Burning it
      • The MythBusters technique (my favourite 😆)
      • Appreciate the reply, thanks. The pole saw won't cut thicker branches though.
