After https://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/197592 asked for a free mask deal, wanted to share the cheapest P2 mask with a side valve available on the market. Find the ones with the front valve to be uncomfortable and its quite difficult to find the side ones at the moment. Bunnings is sold out of both the Bear brand and 3M https://www.bunnings.com.au/bear-disposable-p2-respirator-du…. Found these guys sent them out quickly and arrived same week.

Edit: This was not posted as a preventative measure for the virus. Its become quite difficult to find these for use in construction.

  Valved masks are next to useless for the purposes of controlling coronavirus infections. The idea behind masks is to prevent unknowingly spreading from yourself to others, not the other way around. The valve allows completely unfiltered air out of the mask.

  According to the Victorian DHHS:

  Face masks that have unfiltered one-way valves should not be used.

  And to inform that they're not suitable to prevent you infecting others.

  You also dont need n95, as you're stopping human aerosol, which is quite large a droplet, not the virus itself.

  They should make these masks illegal. They are allowing people to exhale unfiltered viral particles.

    Or instead of making a racket you can tell me a workplace safety shop or paint store in Melbourne with stock of these masks so I can go buy some. Thanks for being helpful :)

      So long as you have an abn within the trade, most of the boat building wholesalers still have stock.

  You are in Victoria. If you are working outside your own house you will need to wear an appropriate mask to prevent COVID transmission. Is this “construction” on your own property?

  This is claiming to be P2 but appears to lack the AS/NZS 1716:2012 mark, or an equivalent mark as required by law.
  Instead they appear to be marked PM2.5, not a standard and vastly inferior.
