Bought one today and thought it was pretty good. Harvey Norman Springvale grand opening special: $299 for 160GB PS3 console and 2 platinum games (it was a very small selection though, maybe 6 or 7 titles).
It's their grand opening special and I'm told the whole shopping centre's grand opening is next weekend, so probably on till next weekend. Was told there's still plenty of stock left.
You get the option of extra 2 years warranty for $95.

Yes, according to salesman, definitely "grand opening only" special price. At Springvale, Vic only, the same building as the new Ikea.
There was grand tourismo 5, unchartered 2, kill zone 3, resistance 2 platinum, heavy rain move edition, and two or three others I can't remember.. So very small selection. But they have the new battlefield also for 20% off (I think all games are 20% off for PS3, but they only have a small selection).
Those are all fantastic games so a great selection.
Just re-read my answer, I think I made it sound like new battlefield is part of the platinum games collection, it's not. But it's on 20% off.

160gb would be old firmware right? For running backup copies of games from the hard drive.

There are 160gb models from after the pricedrop & 160gb models from before with the old firmware.
My guess would be that it's the newer version, since most of the old ones have sold & the OP said there's plenty of these ones in stock.
Just a word of caution, the games are not discounted at 20% off. The 25% off gaming software was over about 2 days ago, was told by a HN sales staff.. So yeah, for those of you heading there for a 20% off games, don't bother.
I got the 2 games in the bundle and 2 more including battlefield and got the 20% off. So either he made a mistake, or it's a grand opening special.
I was told that this PS3 is the newer version.
not saying that this is not a good offer but i picked up a ps3 250gb (so i think older model maybe, don't know) for $200 from myer. No free games though.
