Not the best game in the franchise but $29 is not bad if you have prime. The rebel collection was $39 but it looks like that is sold out.

        ACII was the best for me, because it made such a massive leap over the first.

        In hindsight, ACIII was probably not that bad, but it was so massively hyped and just wasn't the game it should have been. That said, I think it started a good change of direction for the series.

        Black Flag was pretty good, one of my top few in the series.

          @miarn: I think this sums up how most people feel, AC2 was real progress. You managed a small economy, it wasn't overwhelming and complexity was gradually introduced. I found the story progress was great, except for the last mission which jumps to years later for no apparent reason.

          When AC3 was announced people expected the same progress (and polishing) in an AAA title, but that is not what happened. In hindsight, I think AC3 might have marked the beginning of the industry becoming a disappointment engine, pumping out the same old stuff with no real thought on creativity. However there were still elements of creativity in AC3, hunting and trapping, and environment changes like snow seasons. But I remember the gameplay being quite short. It's telling that the best part of AC3 (the ships) became an entirely new game. It's a combo of the things I like and dislike about the franchise, a new game every 2 minutes but they appear to know what makes a good game and only put in a minimal amount.
