          • @DoesntEvenMatter: I've seen some people hand wash with the foam as a shortcut. Is that still a problem if you high pressure rinse first then foam?

            • @rokufan: It's fine on a 2nd foaming, but the first you definitely want to rinse it all off.

I foam up and just let it sit for a while over 5min then rinse and apply again and then only need to constant if there road grim. Otherwise the foam breaks it all down pretty well

              • @DoesntEvenMatter: High pressure rinse then hand wash with foam is no worse than high pressure rinse and old school contact wash? In terms of scratches and swirls?

I get you want to use the foam as an additional step to remove as much dirt before making contact. But I want to use the foam as a shortcut wash on a few older not so flash vehicles.

                • @rokufan: The first foam breaks up the dirt and allows them to be washed off before you ever touch the car and rub them in. Just spraying doesn't have the same effect as a foaming agent, gets the dust off but not all them little particulates stuck that cause swirls. CT18 is actually pretty great for it. Used tk be bad because it was such a intense formula but they made it pH neutral and works well still. Strong enough to never need contact at all if washed regularly.

But yes no worse, but a extra 5min for a presoak in the soap makes a easier cleaning job and safer paint work, especially if your car has a thin clear coat

                  • @DoesntEvenMatter: Thanks mate. Asking a lot of questions because I'm trying to up my car washing game. 🙂

      • Hey mate, @b-rad, where can I buy bilt hamber from?

  • Bought and used this today. Does a good job considering it's $90. Seems to be be a decent build quality as well.

  • +1

How are these for car cleaning and how it compares to those motor cleaning services where you deposit $2 per minute?

    • This particular one isn't even close to car wash ones, I had Gerni 100.3 which is rated at 1450 psi, I would say that was pretty close to what I saw on few car washes around our place. This one claims to be more but I'd say in reality it's prob 11-1200 psi

  • Actual Pressure rating 1600PSI. No info on pump material, most likely plastic?

  • ive tried just about every water pressure brand out there and the only one that didn't break was the gerni, 130 dollars from bunnings, been running strong for years. you would think the cheap one is shit, but no its going strong still

  • Is it suppose to run non stop even when you're not pushing the trigger ? I bought one but returned it the next day, I previously had Gerni 100.3 Model which I bought for $50 from bunnings 4 years ago, It's been put to some really good use and just died last month. In comparison Ozito one felt really cheap and pressure was nowhere as good as cheapest Gerni washer, I hated the fact that it was so noisy even when I wasn't using it.

Edit: That's the deal I picked up from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/195367 It's definitely been a while haha

  • Anyone purchase a longer hose? It looks like the hose connectors are the same as Nilfisk. Can anyone confirm?
