Apps which don't actually do their own sensing, in your exact location, and just ping some Bureau of Meteorology somewhere, seem a bit hit-and-miss to me. The best BOM can provide for me, in a capital city, is from a weather station 15km away.

I guess useful if you're moving around a lot.

    • +4

Yep, better to use the BOM app if it's just fetching info somewhere based on your location.

A lot of these weather apps, whether paid or free, harvest and sell user location data.

one exception i found was yowindow the way it allows you to scrub time and visually see the weather change. it drops to free every now and then. Not sure about data harvesting though.

Damn poor ratings for UVMeter. Free though. No harm in trying.

I've used UVI Mate, worth a try.

Weather app in iOS already shows UV index.

      • The built-in weather app show the current UV index only, I found WillyWeather which includes UV index foreasts even better.
