    Suggestion: add CL16 to title.

Thanks for the share OP 😊

  • +1

also suggested to add (16GB x 2) in the title

  • Are these optimal for OC? I've been out of it for a while and forgot what to look for in ram?

    • That' what the reviews say but just bought one yesterday so cant confirm
I do have the ballistix 2x 8 gb and it ocs real good.

edit:: My bad .. I have crucial but this is corsair. ignore my comment.

Not sure. I have a pair and I just set them at their rated 3200 speed and off I go.

With AMD you also want to set that infinity fabric thing up.

      • Oof, infinity fabric - off to google

        • It’s fairly simple. You just need to set it to half the speed of whatever you set the RAM at. So it runs at 1:1 ratio.

3200 RAM will run at 1600Mhz dual channel (with my basic understanding) so you just set that up the same for that infinity fabric thing.

@cnut: You don't want to be underclocking the IF frequency…

The goal is to get the RAM to 3600-3800 instead.

Price of RAM and SSDs going down. Happy Face Meme

Prices of GPUs and CPUs going up. Sad Face Meme

  • That's good price

  • Anyone know if its better price to get a pair of 32gigers,.. or 2x lots of these 16giger pairs?

    • Cheaper to get this than 4 sticks.

    • I remember long time back its always better to run in dual channels than single slot
However, 2 dual channels (16G x 4) vs 1 dual channel (32G x 2) should be pretty close in performance?
Probably its more towards the decision what is supported in the motherboard and whether you want to add more rams in the future

    • Generally 2 sticks is better than 4 sticks, for the same amount of RAM.

Waiting for a deal on the 3600mhz C18 version. So closeeee

    • 99% of benchmarks show virtually no improvement in performance over 3200Mhz. Just sayin..

  • Hey guys - noob question, but does all 3200mhz DDR4 CL16 perform the same? If so, is this RAM only a good deal because of the brand and LEDs?

    • Basically.

The brand/model die will determine overclocking potential though, eg people pay more for Samsung B die sticks

    • No, refer to your motherboard's QVL list for the recommended sticks if you want to ensure that your ram can run at the tested XMP profile (i.e for this one, 3200mhz CL 16).

Quoting Steve / TechJesus from Gamers Nexus @ 9:44

"Ram doesn't set it's own frequency and timings, bios does. Ram carries the marketing for what frequency and timings it should be able to hit and you can apply an XMP profile redundantly in order to achieve those timings and that frequency easily. But the bios ultimately dictates how well this works and that's why some boards just straight wont work with different memory kits even if they're rather modest in their timing goals."

  • Other than the RGB lighting how would this compare to the G.Skill 32GB (2x16GB) F4-3200C16D-32GFX Flare X 3200MHz DDR4 RAM for $189 or the Silicon Power 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Turbine Gaming Desktop Memory RAM for $197 from umart?

      You can buy F4-3600C16D-32GVKC (32gb (16x2) 3600 @ 16) for 200 - via newegg AU

      • ah that's probably a better pick - all this range is seriously doing my head in especially as gskill don't sell the differences ect on their site, for example flare x vs ripjaw v - I try googling it, looking for reviews etc and I just end up going around in circles.

I currently have predator hyper x (3200 8gb x 2) and thinking of bumping it up and adding another 16x2 in there (on a x470 gaming 7) and completely at a loss at figuring it out

  • Thanbks heaps for posting, Picked em up for my new build and it seemed too good to pass up after what prices have been recently. Appreciate it!
