  • Bugger, I paid $150 for this last week. Oh well, can't win them all.

I plan to mount this to an Nvidia Shield so I hope no drivers/software is required when you turn off the security options.

    • I bought none touch version for NVIDIA Shield and it works great

    • Same with just buying one, though it still hasn't arrived yet.

    HEY Ozbros

I just got off the phone to office works head office

After being very nice over the phone they price matched this offer with 6 buck delivery which worked out to be $99 anyways delivered.

Give them a go!!!!! But put your seductive voice on😎

    • They price matched even tho this is Out of stock???

    • I sounds like Grover.
Will that help or hurt my chances ?

      • Errr maybe let count do this call 🦇

  • Wow, good job, also 59 views in 23 mins!

  • They still got stock at my local store so gonna grab some later today. Thanks OP!

  • Just picked mine up from Bing Lee Alexandria - out of stock in store too

Have run a speed test on my 2016 iMac using BlackMagic on both my T5 and T7 - unsurprisingly they both seem to run at the same speeds - around 410MB/s read and writes on both

    • isn't T7 better than t5?

      • Yes Samsung claim aorund 2x the speed - but the limiting factor would be the iMac's USB3.0 port where as you would want USB3.2 for maximum speeds

USB3.0 should be able to handle a theorectical max of 625MB/s however

        • Oh, that makes sense.
Is the USB 3.2 latest version of that USB which is in newer laptops?

          • @Modesty: Correct; on my XPS15 2020 I'm getting 1030MB/s read and 865MB/s write with the T7

  • Managed to get one at Haymarket, NSW. There’s 4 left in stock.

  • Out of stock at Haymarket NSW

  • T5 price didn't drop that quickly, it's good price.

  • Got one on the phone with OW, thanks

  • Local Bing Lee let me put an order for one and they'll call me when it comes in

  • I just logged in to check on my order from last night and its gone from my account!
    Paid with credit card.

I've got the email confirmation of order with an order number received last night, but there's nothing showing on my account. Order was there last night.
It's like it has been wiped.

Has this happened to anyone else???

    • I wasn’t previously registered and straight after I ordered this SSD an alert was shown asking if I would like to save this order to my account. My order is still showing as “processing”…maybe you didn’t save it to your account?

  • Bing lee sold me a used unit? it had a password and fingerprint in the ssd already so i can't even use it

    • How did you solve it?

Mine will take another week to 10 days to reach Melbourne…

      • I just went to get a refund because they had no stock left and won't be receiving any new shipments

  • Picked mine up today. Will give it a spin later.

    • +1

Will give it a spin later.

      Buts its a SSD.

      • Touché.

Mines been stuck in Sydney for like a week

  • My T7 finally arrived from Bing Lee - what a great deal, OP! Thanks.

I've set it up with a fingerprint lock on an old Macbook and then tried using the T7 drive on my other Macs.

It's fabulous - for the other machines where I don't want to install the Samsung software, I just plug it in, touch the fingerprint sensor, and it all works! No software install or new drivers required.

So far, staying with the default exFAT formatting. I would normally partition my drives into HFS or APFS, but not sure how to do it in this case because of the fingerprint security.
On first testing exFAT seems OK, able to copy over OSX DMG disc images and open up fine.

    • You can open disk management in you mac, select t7 drive from there, and format it as you like.

      • But how will that affect the finger print security that has been set up?

        Will it still work?

For OSX it would be best to change the partition map to GUID as well, and then partition as APFS or HFS.
I think I need to do that if I want to be able to use as a boot drive.
