I upgraded from a 32" AOC 75Hz IPS monitor to this display for gaming and the improved contrast, and here’s my take:

Refresh Rate & Response: The higher refresh rate and faster response time are noticeable improvements for gaming, making gameplay smoother.

Black Smear: On overdrive setting 3, I don’t notice significant black smear, which is a plus.

Curve: The curved screen feels more comfortable for desktop use at this size.

Sharpness & Banding: The IPS panel on my old AOC looked sharper. YouTube videos show more banding on the new display, possibly due to its much higher contrast, but I’m not certain.

Contrast: The contrast is significantly better, which enhances visuals.

Value: Overall, it’s a good monitor for the price.

Worth a read for what its worth. https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/12tf2ae/my_review…

  • Tossing between this and the LG 34inch ultrawide 3440 X 1440. Is it worth an extra $100? I'm not well versed enough in monitors to really know what's better

    • its all preference
34 is wider more useful for general office stuff, some say can be more immersive in games
      32 is taller and 16:9

if you're talking about the LG 34WP60C-B, I mean they're both entry level panels but this 32" is brighter and more contrast. Pick the aspect ratio you prefer rather than specs.

      • To add to this, 34" (21:9) is great for watching most movies on as it gives no black bars/letterboxing.
On the other hand for things like Youtube and most TV shows 16:9 is better. This is only if you care about letterboxing of course.

But yes I agree on deciding based on the aspect ratio for your preferences/use case. I personally prefer 21:9 for gaming and office use

    • @Shmeestar I bought the Lenovo G34W-30 34" curved Ultra Wide Monitor for my work from home setup a little over a year ago, it’s not a high end performing monitor by any means but I’m happy with its performance for the price. I also have a slim PS5 connected to the Lenovo monitor for when I want to play console games after midnight with headphones. I’m not a PC gamer, I’m only interested in gaming consoles for gaming, so the Lenovo G34W-30 34" monitor suffices for my needs. I would alway choose to play on one of my other PS5 setups on my larger 77” Sony QD-OLED and 65” LG WOLED TVs plus 7.2.4 and 7.1 audio setups rather than a smaller 30”-45” computer monitor with headphones before midnight.

      • Everyone around you stays up til midnight?

  • is the MAG 275QF for 246 a good deal? ATl seem to be at 220ish

    • That’s a great deal if you can get a MAG 275QF for $246.
      Where is that?

      • At centrecom, use the code UPSIZEMOM

  • How's the ghosting on this?

    • Actually pretty good. I have this monitor and there is a review on the ghosting on YouTube, one of the reasons I bought it.

  • I can't speak about the quality of the screen, but that's a great price.
I have just bought one from their Ebay store for $257 and that was already cheaper than the previous deals by quite a margin.

  • Good price, I think I will wait it out as there is a samsung secret sale coming up soon and the G5 might go back down to this price.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/896887

    • Samsung Secret Sale is from May 05. 2025 ~ May 07. 2025 while this prom is valid till 4 May

  • This monitor had been $249 on Amazon AU for several days but now ended
Edit: Just checked it is now $249 again but back order.

  • Mom?

  • Is this a good monitor for a general home office or is there a better value option? Looking for a PC setup for my home office but not very technical at all. Don't need it for gaming, but want something good quality that will last a long time. Also any recommendations on computer, keyboard etc. would be greatly appreciated 🙏

  • I made a decision a while back to only get monitors with built in docks that power a laptop. Not relevant if you have a desktop. But if you do use a laptop that is USB-C powered, go the in-built dock road

    • plenty of cheap and cheerful thunderbolt docks that can give you that single cable functionality on a laptop, why limit your monitor options to more expensive models?

      • Using top-end Thinkpad and HP laptops I have had no end of trouble with docks from all the major players, different issues, but a common one is struggling with different monitors and setups. that includes setups for many staff. So I've decided go with one high res monitor, that has it's own dock (so will not have compatibility issues)

        • which monitor did you get. Im wanting the same thing

    • USB-C can't handle high refresh rates at high resolutions.

  • Good timing. I'm just looking to upgrade my monitor setup between two options:

    A: Dual 27" monitors

    B: One 32" + one 24" monitor

Main use is for work, with some video editing.

Which setup do you guys think is more practical?

    • +1

Dual 27"s are king for productivity, you get the most real estate.

    • +1

for work I'd go 4k 27s (currently run 3x of them)

  • Very good value! If only GPUs were following the same pricing trends as monitors.

  • +1

    “UPSIZEMOM”?
    Don’t mind if I do… 😘👌

  • Comes up $241 after coupon, anything I'm doing wrong?

  • g30d price is coming up 320 not 198 price is wrong or im not doing it right
