This phone has only got one band 850MHz & no 4G.
Nobody can find an unlock for it & doesn't work on any Telstra MVNO's without unlocking.
There is no micro sd slot and it only holds 40MB of music.

Might be good for a portable FM radio though.

    • These were useful when you could get a cheap unlock and put a $5 ALDI SIM in it.

Now they are only good for bomb triggers.

      • Officer, this comment right here

        • Indeed, username checks out.

  • Will it work with a Boost SIM ?

    • +2

I wouldn't buy a 3G - even you unlock it, some carriers may not work with 3G

    • +1

      No, I tried it.

    • Works with Boost without any issues but just 3G

i unlocked this phone, tried optus and beelong sim cards. no luck

    • Did you pay telstra? If not can you plz share how?

      • +1

i waited for 2 years :) it was in my cupboard sleeping.

        • I see. Looks like mine is going to do the same. Cheers

        • How was the battery after 2 years of no use?

          • @Arthur Dunger: like said none of the sims worked, so never used it. still sleeping in cupboard.

      • it lacks the bands that other carriers use. It is Telstra only. Not sure about boost or woolies. That might require unlocking.

    • I have successfully unlocked: 'To unlock a Telstra Pre-Paid, please call 125 8880'.
      You'll get sent a code.

  • Probably holds more value to recycle it for its chip

  • Lol what trash

      Lots of good reviews.

Bought this for my daughter to have no social media. It is perfect for that purpose!

Daughter to mother: "I hate you! You're ruining my life!"

Comes with $10 call credit for national calls and text, as well as 50MB data for added convenience

What is the expiry date for the credit ?

    I'm hoping it'll be 365 days. :-)

    • +1

Yeah good deal for the credit, as $10 credit for $9 + a free phone :)

      • True and Agree, So picked up one.

  • Ideal phone for people paranoid about privacy.

    • +1

So… suitable for arranging drug deals? Asking for a friend.

  • +2

I don't really think Telstra will switch off 3G in 2024, empty threats.
There are too many 4G devices out there that can't use 4G-voice, it would cause a (profanity) of confusion, they will delay it.

They would be better off decommissioning the 4G network in 2024, and then 3G in 2028.

    • +1

Battery on the phone will probably be dead before 2024…

  • Anyone know whether this has an alarm?

    • Definitely has one 👍🏼

      • Great. Will get one then.

  • Bought one. In WA.

  • Is this single sim or dual sim,

    • +1

      Single sim

  • can anyone confirm how long you get to keep the number without having to top it up once the sim starter pack is activated? if its 1 year it might be worth it if its only 6 months after credit expires might give it a miss.

  • Buy it for the radio, better than the Sony radio deal :D… wait there is no AM missing out on the talk back channels?

  • Hi. I bought 2 to take overseas. Will it work on a Vodaphone network overseas (Pacific) AFTER I have used it here on Telstra network for 6 months ? Can I unlock free via Telstra then please??

    • Only after two years from activation.
      To unlock a Telstra Pre-Paid, please call 125 8880.

  • Burner phone

  • your 9$ is better spent on a hamburger

  • Comes with $10 call credit for national calls and text, as well as 50MB data for added convenience
    SIM Card with $10 Credit.
Cant this be used to activate on a different plan of Telstra? Say $10 for 1GB with 7 days expiry. Not that great anyway, but just wondering.

  • The Telstra Lite 2 is newer than the Lite-bought one for $19 a while backs but supports 4G:

  • I should have put the larger SIM card into the phone but stuffed up. No point replacing the $10 Sim. Would a $2 Telstra sim work with this?
