  • Thanks OP! Missed out the last couple of times so happy to get one. Cheaper is just a bonus.

  • Thanks OP! Grabbed one for my GPD Win Max.

It is a high quality controller with superior dpad. Imo better that Nintendo Pro controller.

    Please remember that:
    Start + X = Xbox mode
    Start + Y = Nintendo Switch mode

You can easily switch (hue hue) between the modes and use one pad for both PC and Consoles.

  • Black edition is sold out, so SN edition it is…..

    Thanks OP!

  • This can be used with the switch?

    • +7

They were basically made for the Nintendo Switch.

      • Better get myself one then. Cheers.

    Such a good controller

I had the SN30 Pro before this and was somewhat disappointed with the sticks and dpad accuracy (although still better than the official pro controller for Switch at the time).

Ordered this last time it was on Ozbargain and it literally and honestly does rival the official controller in terms of quality. Sticks are 100% better than the SN30 Pro and the dpad rivals the Wii U dpad (big compliment).

Is this better than the Xbox One S controller if I was to use it with a Nvidia Shield?

    • If you have the original 2015 Nvidia Shield TV, I would suggest try getting Nvidia's Original Shield Gamepad.
It uses Wifi, and has very very low latency.

Unlike the Bluetooth 4.0 connection of the DS4, Xbox One S, and this 8bitDo+ pad.

  • Excellent controller

  • Grr I hate Kogan, but I grabbed one anyway. Thanks OP.

Edit: And they're all gone now!

Sigh why do I want things I don't need.

  • Keep in mind the SN30 Pro+ is prone to dpad issues.
They used a terrible mould for the directional buttons plastic that scrapes the side of the shell when you press right, this creates resistance and an audible scrape.

If you are buying this expecting the perfect dpad you may be disappointed.
In order to correct the issue you need to open it up to replace the dpad with an aftermarket one or send away to 8bitdo under warranty (I've read people have sent away x3 times and always been returned a bad unit).

Another solution is to open it up and rotate the dpad 90 degrees so the bad side is up or down.
It will still scrape when that direction is pressed, but up and down are less often used by 2D games like platformers.

I've been using mine for 6+ months. No D-Pad issues.

I basically only play Tetris though.

Anything is better than the Pro controller D-Pad.

      YMMV.

      • The Switch Pro controller's main negative is accidental diagonals, which is a problem for Tetris because it can mean accidental drops you didn't mean.
SN30 Pro+ does not have this issue.

But as stated, the dpad seems to have a widespread problem that causes scraping. I've read some people say they "sanded it down" but either way it's obvious that the sharp cutout tab on the dpad is causing the scraping.
Personally I rotated my dpad for now and will be replacing it with an aftermarket one.
They appear to just be simple SNES dpads so original or reproduction SNES dpads should work.

Man, I just want a switch controller that has a good dpad. That's it. How hard is that?

    • +1

I've got four of them and never even heard of this problem before.

  • missed out :( anyone using it for ipad?

    • Rarely but it’s a pretty good controller nonetheless

    White is back in stock

Just a heads up about Heybattery (3rd party seller through Kogan): I ordered an 8bitdo controller from them over a week ago, they still haven't even sent it.
Very quick to take the money, very slow to bother doing anything with the order.

    • Oh dang. Thanks for heads up. I'm not in a rush but will monitor my order.

    • As long as they are faster than dells shitty support :)

    • I ordered one controller from Heybattery on the 12/08. It arrived 01/09.
I ordered another controller from Heybattery on the 16/08. It arrived 31/08.

      YMMV.
