Update: they’ve pulled the deal. Apparently the council had planned for people to use it with just their one cafe and not redeem it at multiple cafes. Dumb!

Just went to my local cafe San Luca and was asked if I wanted my coffee and a cake free as part of this promotion, just had to give my name.

Looks like I’ll be visiting a different Toorak Rd cafe each day this week.

  Kinda seems counter productive if the object is to say thank you and help keep these businesses running. But, nice get if you can walk out with a freebie.

    I believe it's to remind people that it still possible to walk in and grab a coffee from a cafe as opposed to ordering it through a delivery app.

  I mean, what did they expect?

  Still, I got the chance to try a newly opened café (Graze on Toorak) which did a great chai latte, and the manager seemed really nice - worth a visit if you're in the area.
