Logitech BRIO 4K Ultra HD Webcam $248 + $6 Shipping @ Gorilla Gaming

220

It's not on a 'sale' sale, but as someone who's been searching for a proper webcam for ages and noticing the BRIO at obscene prices (eg. >299), this is a STEAL.

Holy moley, if you tried looking for this now you wouldn't even find closer prices right now, not sure if it's a mistake but I placed an order anyway. $6 shipping to Melb CBD.

Great for those who want a Windows Hello webcam that doesn't have a crappy camera.

Enjoy!

Orders ship from our fulfillment partner Mighty Ape. Their warehouse is based in New Zealand with daily flights across the Tasman with Australia Post.

  • Don't forget to add shipping costs!

    • uh, do I add shipping costs in the main price or put it as (+$6 shipping to metro areas)

Looks like the best price out there however, this item is shipped from NZ according to the FAQ? Not local stock? https://gorillagaming.com.au/pages/helphq#/collection/787/ar…

    • good point! what does that mean for us? πŸ€”

side qn, if they have a registered business here, does it fall under the ACL?

Sadly, the image sensor isn't good enough to justify this price.

Stick to something like the c920 at around the $100-$120 mark until proper 4k webcams become a thing, probably starting at $300-$400, except their image quality will actually compete with DSLR-grade image sensors.

There's already some products out there, just haven't reached our shores yet.

      Please find me a c920 for $120 :P

      • I'd be looking for models that have a similar image sensor, because sheeple.

      • There was one for $140 albeit that WINC appearing to be scamming customers by taking their money and not delivering it.

Yet another example of the largest businesses in the country defrauding people because business gets special laws and accountability (ie. none) that allows them to defraud people on a continuous basis.

Ever since Covid lockdowns, there hasn't been any more "cheap" webcams anymore. lol.. I remember when they flogged them out at $9 and no one wanted them. Now, you are lucky to find them under $100..

Yeah i was a bit shocked at the prices today. I haven't needed a webcam in the recent past as my laptop has one. I have a new monitor on the way so will stop using laptop screen and thus will lose its camera. I thought i would get a good specced name brand for about $60.00….. LOL…..

I wonder why buy webcam when you can use your mobile phone?

    • +1

Mobile phones aren't the best for interactive video conferencing, especially as a host.

    • I just ordered a c920 from OW. Used my phone as webcam previously. It made my phone really hot. I used it while charging, but the battery still dropping. I worry it may damage my phone in the long term (no prove, just worry)

Buy sticky mount swivel, use phone with cable or over same wifi… 200 bucks saved

  • Look up the list of Canon cameras that work via USB as a webcam via Canon app and buy one of those instead if you want quality.

    • Have you tried using it though? Flaky as (profanity)!
I tried, it failed - badly on my Canon 80D.

  • i recommend logi streamcam, you can either go horizontal or vertical recording, it's a waste of pixels if you gonna crop 1080 horizontal recording

Very good price, but I would rather use my android phone with ivcam app for approx $15,
I have actually been using my phone as a webcam for work since March, together with OBS, some lighting and a green screen bought from Gumtree,
a total of about $50, the quality is much better, and I can customise my background to anything i like in Webex/Zoom.

    • Nice! Are you using usb or Wi-Fi to connect your phone? Do notice any lag between video / sound? What light do you use?

      • +1

USB-C, and one of those cheap ring light mounted on top of the monitor, PULUZ 9 Inch USB RGB Dimmable Ring Light
Yes workable using USB, small lag, WIFI suffers more lags.

You dont need extra lighting if your place is well lit. The app has some control to compensate in low light, ISO, Exposure…
BTW, all can be controlled from the desktop app, there is no need to touch the phone.

  • Android phone with a webcam emulator app would save you loads.
Alternatively, if you have DSLR or Mirrorless with a micro HDMI output, you can buy a $15 capture card.

    • Any advice on a capture card? Thinking of trying my GoPro (5, so needs to be the method you described above)

      • I bought this the other week.

Setup a virtual cam via OBS and no issues. Mind you, its capped at 1080 @ 30hz. But it's also 10% of the price of an Elgato Camlink.
Beats spending a couple hundred bucks for a webcam that's probably worse than your current camera.

Just received my Brio. Phenomenal webcam for $250, autofocus with new firmware is top notch, colour is accurate and dynamic range is fairly good with reasonable shadow performance. HDR is a gimmick though. Nowhere near my Z7 mirrorless, but for the price it is very good.

    • awesome, happy you enjoyed it!

    • getting shade from most of my fam for spending so much on a webcam so πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Price shows $315 for me? expired already?

    • Yeah, same for me. I assume it's long since expired?

  • Has anyone's Brio order shipped?

Mines just updated and its in Vic, so gonna be a while due to the stage 4 lockdown…

    • +1

I've got mine yesterday*! it's really good quality, no grain no nonsense feed, sticking to 720p @ 60fps

wonder how they compare to the c920 tbh πŸ€”
