Australia's Own Barista Organic Almond Milk 1L $3.60 (Save $0.90) @ Woolworths

180

This is hands down the best Almond milk for home coffee making. I switched from full cream milk to this with next to no fuss. I no longer buy any other milk/nut juice. This froths like a dream (I was/am a barista).

I was/am impressed by the deal

    • Haha yes, I was a barista at a coffee shop, now I am one at home.

    • I'm impressed by the name. Marketing gurus in full swing showing off their swag…

Can confirm that it froths as good as if not better than normal milk. Have tried a few other "Barista" Almond Milk brands and this has been the standout by far.

    • What are your thoughts on Bonsoy almond milk's frothability?

      • Not great in my opinion. This, so good barista almond and milk lab seem to all work well. The ingredients in this are almost identical to the milk lab ingredients. I generally buy so good because it is fortified with calcium, vitamin b12 and a few others

    • have you tried so good barista almond milk? can you make a comparison on the two?

  • Interesting - I've only found Milk Lab Almond Milk to taste good and froth well. I'll give this a shot!

  • I have this brand, but the Macadamia milk version. It's a great alternative to those like me who could never find a good tasting almond milk.

It froths up almost as well as milk in our Nespresso frother.

We've found it the best for frothing as well. It's essentially a copy of MILKLAB but without the price tag.

We should be buying MILKLAB to support Australian water.

On a serious note, MILKLAB and Australia's Own are both owned by Freedom Foods. Is there actually any difference between the two products? I've not tried the Australia's Own version.

  • Any comments on the after-taste of this almond milk? I want to like almond milk in coffee… But I don't like the almond bitter after-taste I get from some of the other brands

    • +3

It doesn't have the bitter after taste you often find with other almond milks. As mentioned above it is practically identical to the Milklabs almond milk (also made by Freedom Foods), with only the slightest difference in taste.

Worth noting for those switching to Almond milk for Keto diet, this does have a small amount of added sugar.

  • These do go to 1/2 price every now and again, worth stocking up when they do

  • I always froth on nut juice

  • This and the Milk Labs Almond milk are the go for coffee, having found much else that matches it.

In fact, I've switched to Milk Labs almond over a standard full cream option now.

    * There is so much in this that is not good for you
    * Even though it is marketed as organic
