If you are looking for the ultimate fuel system cleaner and conditioner, look no further than the Australian made, Fuel Doctor Fuel Conditioner. Fuel Doctor has been formulated to clean and disperse gums, varnish, condensation, microbial and biological growths while also improving fuel delivery and combustion performance; Increasing fuel economy and minimising harmful emissions. Fuel Doctor also provides upper cylinder lubrication qualities and with ongoing use will help prevent fuel and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) blockages. Fuel Doctor is suitable to use in all petrol and diesel engines and will stabilise and extend fuel life for up to 24 months

Using Fuel Doctor Duel Conditioner is simple, just add it to your fuel tank when you next top up. For best results, shock treat your tank initially with 250mL (suitable for tanks up to 100L) prior to refilling. • Anyone used this and actually noticed any difference afterwards?

Have not used, but I think It would only hurt you Wallet. This Cost more than the Fuel that goes in my Motorcycle.

By and large, these do nothing so it' safe to save your money.

Getting a mechanic to really clear out the valves and injector can make a difference, however.

    • Yeh I use it, not so much as a cleaner but just an additive with 91.

Improves economy very slightly (going both by Fuelly and the onboard computer) but best benefit for me is it just runs a bit happier.

I haven't used this one before, but willing to give this one a go as reviews seem to be rather positive. My cars done 100K+ each and none of them had their injectors / valves cleaned. Surely its better to get injectors / valves / fuel lines cleaned professionally - at least the results are rather visible. My credit card, however, disagrees.

    • Yeah it lubs the cylinder head. Engine sounds diff

I tried it after getting a bottle really cheap and noticed no difference in fuel economy, power or injector feedback values.

I do run the Chemtech additive in the 4wd every other tank not because of performance reasons, but for the biocide properties to avoid algae.

If you have carbon buildup that needs cleaning you have other bigger issues to worry about.

Just use the premium RON fuels. They already comes with those things.

    • I'd say, difference in price between 91 and 95 is somewhere between 10-13 cents per litre. If fact, closest servo to me right now has 13 cents difference. If you get 50-60 litres, it'll cost you $6.5 - $7.5 extra each time, compare to $0.75 per tank if you use Fuel Doctor. Surely you'd also get a better mileage out of 95 RON fuel.

      I use 95 RON :-)

      • Fine to use high octane blends if your vehicle recommends it (or/and you have a high compression engine), otherwise 95/98 will give you zero benefit and may impede performance.

Here for the ‘snake oil’ comments…

  • Not sure if it placebo effect but I put a large amount in the last time this was on sale. I have a turbo diesel truck and it feels smoother in acceleration and idles smoother. I think I had some bad fuel which this either neutralised or the tank I mixed it with was better fuel.
Almost no white smoke out the back now under high acceleration.

  • Is this beneficial if it's used once every 3-4 months or do you need to use it with every tank?

    • +1

I find 25ml in a 45ltr tank is about right. Much more than that and it seems to affect performance, less and it runs the same as straight 91.

In my experience it doesn’t seem to have any really lasting effects when running a straight tank without the additive.

  • This stuff was developed for cleaning dirty diesel fuel storages, so I really don't believe the claim about these being boosting economy or providing upper cylinder lubrication.

FYI, I got a bottle of this and no effect on any modern petrol car made in the past 10 years. For diesel cars it may work better. I only got this as a fuel stabiliser for my car during lockdown.
