  • Just ordered, Cheers OP

ding it, bought 3 days ago @6 more dollars… good find.

    • dang, same here - bought the UK deal. expected ETA for that ones October 3rd :(

      • You can cancel and reorder if it has not been despatched yet.

    • Haha same!

Still 4x cheaper than the first pair.

  • Silly question, it says:
"Designed and optimized for the latest Intel X99 and Skylake 6th Gen Core i5/i7 Platform"

Does that mean these wont work with AMD/Ryzen systems?

    • +1

I haven’t used this one but this one works perfectly fine with Ryzen 3600 on B450 mortar max.

    • +1

it's just been tested with that, if you google your mobo it should show if it's compatible or not, or even if others had issues. most of the time it's fine.

    • duplicate comment by accident. please delete. sorry

    • +1

It means they have Intel based XMP profiles baked in, you can use them with AMD/Ryzen but you may need to configure the timings manually (see the stick for the "tested" timings).

  • Noticed its advertised as being aimed at Intel memory controllers. Anyone had success with this and Ryzen via XMP?

    • +1

Have a set of this with my 2600 works fine, no issues.

    • Working fine with my 3700x on a B450 Tomahawk Max.

    • Depends on your motherboard and CPU. Zen 2 should handle XMP profile easily

      • Thanks all

This will be with a Zen1 / Zen+ chip. Had issues with a much early set of Corsair aimed at Intel controllers. Was worth an ask Cheers :)

I have a Ryzen 3 with a B450 motherboard, anyone know if this RAM will work?

    • +2

I haven’t used this one but this one works perfectly fine with Ryzen 3600 on B450 mortar max.

      • Cheers.

    • +1

Yes, I have this exact setup and it works fine

edit: sorry, mine is a Ryzen 5 3600

    • +1

I am currently using these on a Ryzen 5 3600, B450 no issues

  • To get a second set running of this with my 2600 or not hmmm

    • +1

same boat - got the lpx 3000 since skylake till date with my 2600. 16gb is enough, never had any issues of programs/games asking for more

if the 3000mhz goes any lower, i might buy

    Wow, great price.

Does anyone know if it's a problem to combine this model (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16) with the model I already have (CMK16GX4M2E3200C16)?

It seems like everything is the same (same speed, timing, etc), but the B model is 'optimised' for Intel, whatever that means.

    • +1

I highly doubt it will matter, you can probably use the XMP profile loaded on the Intel optimised sticks if that matters at all.

    • +2

the XMP profile are a bit different on those 2, the B model is 16-18-18-36, and E is 16-20-20-38. I take it you will be putting 4x8GB GB stick in dual-channel, might be worth your time to use the Ryzen DRAM calculator and manually set your timing if the XMP doesn't work. You can theoretically use the slower XMP (that of the E model) and everything should work as fine. Make sure you colour code each set (if both set looks the same) to avoid mixing.

      • Thanks, this is really useful.

  • +1

As others have asked, interested to know whether compatible with Ryzen.

This link is pulled from the Corsair website, it has 'optimised for AMD Ryzen and Intel XMP Certified' logos next to it.

    • I have the exact same model running 3 years til now on my ASRock B350 mobo, was $190 back then with the 1st gen Ryzen build. I think it is alright to add more ram for myself now. Currently 16GB.

  • Is this still worth it this late into DDr4's lifespan? Your next PC upgrade in mid to end 2021 will need to be DDR5

    • +5

If you ever wanted more RAM, you should buy it at this stage, not when DDR5 starts production

Once DDR4 production stops, prices start to increase.

      • Spot on!!!!

        This is evident in DDR3.

    • Well yes, DDR4 will only get more expensive as DDR5 becomes prevalent.

So if you're looking to buy sticks for your PC upgrade next year don't buy these, but if you're shoving an extra 16GB in your current PC, this is obviously a great deal.

Who's the seller? Some received fake ram last year. Highly doubt it who sell it. Anywhere I can check it? Thanks.

What's the difference between this RAM and this G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB? I'm in the process of building using AMD Ryzen 3 3300X, does that affect which RAM I should be purchasing?

    • +1

They're both good options, neither is "faster" than the other but people generally advise going for the faster clock speed over the tighter timings.

You can see they're roughly identical here: https://notkyon.moe/ram-latency.htm

      Other things to consider:

      • Does your motherboard and CPU support 3600Mhz ram?
      • Is clearance above the ram a concern for you? (The LPX is very low profile.)
      • The motherboard I was looking at purchasing is MSI B450M-A PRO MAX Micro ATX AM4

On the left sidebar on PCPartPicker, it has a list of Memory Speeds — is this what's supported? I can't see 3600 on there, if so.

          Specs for that motherboard:

          1866/ 2133/ 2400/ 2667Mhz (by JEDEC)
          For AMD Ryzen Gen3 (R5/R7/R9)
          2667/ 2800/ 2933/ 3000/ 3066/ 3200/ 3466/ 3733/ 3866/ 4000/ 4133 MHz (by A-XMP OC MODE)
          For AMD Other CPU
          2667/ 2800/ 2933/ 3000/ 3066/ 3200/ 3466 MHz (by A-XMP OC MODE)

I'm not sure if this means you'll have to run it higher or lower, or if 3600 will just work. I know the XMP profile on this RAM is Intel based.

          • @Shwayne: So I guess 3600 was a no-go then?

It didn't give me any compatibility issues when I added in the G.Skill Ripjaw one from the other deal, weird. Or does it not really say things like that in PartPicker?

            • +1

@Scalding Coffee Cup: I'm not sure sorry, my intuition says it'd be fine, I don't know much about AMD and XMP profiles.

  • Showing $106.99 for me

  • Also showing as $106.99 for me :(

  • Have this OC'ed to 3733 CL18 on my B350

    • Stock voltage? What other timings?

      • +1

        yup 1.35V

        tcas 18
        trcd 19
        trp 20
        tras 40

    • Depends on revision….

  • That would be right, paid $108 for local stock a few days ago, rather than wait for UK delivery.
Still haven't put in a 28d claim yet, no doubt will drop further.
