Was browsing for some memory came across this seems to be the cheapest 3600 MHz memory I could find locally.
Delivery to 2000 + 1% fee comes to a total of $100.19
Seems to be a better deal than the Crucial Ballistix if you don't like the colour or wait for several weeks.

  • Hynix DJR?

    • Yes, anything with sub-timings like 20 or 22-22 is generally a hynix IC (bad one at that)

      • Its fine for the higher densities (32GB modules) but for the 8gig modules there's more to choose from if you care about performance.

        • performance for RAM ?…. unlikely it's noticeable

@dlovep: measured in fps for competitive gaming yes

            • @BargainKen: like when you play game you want to see the FPS status and other info on the screen ? …are you play game or reading dashboard… and mention CL18 for game ?(refer to competitiveness)

    • I've only seen Hynix CJR and Samsung C-die in these kits. Not sure about DJR, it isn't very common.

    • DJR is much better than what this crap is. No offence.

CJR/DJR can do at least 3600 16-19-19-39, this kit is more than likely Hynix JJR/ Samsung C-Die.

Very decent chance it won't do any higher/tighter than 3600c18, which is basically the glorified version of 3200c16, but due to high tRCD/tRP, it would most likely have worse latency, with not much higher bandwidth.

    • What you get on your sticks varies quite a bit with this kit based on my prior research + personal experience. I personally got (crap low-binned) B-die when I bought this kit ~2 months ago. https://i.imgur.com/Z0fIxLq.png

      • What program is this?

      • 🎵 That isn't B-die 🎵

        🎵 It's probably C-die 🎵

        • A more informative reply would've been vastly preferred, but it appears you're probably right, as the sticker code ends in 10C. I had no idea that Thaiphoon Burner (even the current version) ever misreported. Thanks for the correction at least.

What's with all the RAM deals lately? (or has someone already asked?)

    • RAM is perpetually on sale. Capacity and performance continually increase while prices continually decrease so the OZB feed is polluted with RAM deals every single day…

    • There are a lot of tech news reports out about an over supply of RAM and SSD in the market.
      e.g.
      https://www.slashgear.com/ssd-and-ram-prices-to-drop-because…

      • Yep, flash memory prices are dipping because of oversupply following the initial COVID scare

  • What's the difference between this RAM and this Corsair Vengeance LPX? I'm in the process of building using AMD Ryzen 3 3300X, does that affect which RAM I should be purchasing?

    • +1

This ram operates with 12% more clock cycles, but spends more clock cycles doing the things the LPX does.

      3200Mhz CL16-18-18-36

      3600Mhz CL18-22-22-42

They're roughly the same as a result, get the cheapest one.

      • Okay great! I'll go with the LPX then since it's $89 delivered. Thanks very much!

        • see my comment, get the 3600

I was wondering similar and watching this youtube video comparing 3200Mhz C16 vs 3600Mhz C18 and gave the slight edge to the 3600 C18 kit (not by much mind you)

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnRVEgCZJ7c

I ended up going with the 3600 C18 kit since it was only marginally dearer.

      • +1

Not correct. For Ryzen, where first word time is roughly equal you should choose the higher memory clock speed for improved fabric clock speed.

      • So should I upgrade from 3200 to 3600.

Please include the timings and other specs in the description: CL18-22-22-42, 1.35V. Saying it's 3600Mhz doesn't mean a great deal on its own.
