  • To confirm from spec page it does require a neutral wire.

    • Yes, it needs a neutral wire to work.

    • +1

This should be in the description.

  • How much would it usually cost to get this installed by an electrician? No neutral on my switches.

    • +1

Our sparky charges around $30-$40 per switch in Sydney, pulling an extra neutral wire that's around another $120 per job.

  • Just wondering, normally switches here in Australia are connected w/o neutral, right?

    • -1

      All our switches have neutral

    • Some of the old houses do not have a neutral wire in the wall, you can take a photo of the back of the switch and send it to the sparky to find out.

Just make sure you turn off the main power before touching it.

I think any new switches must have a neutral. Australian standard. Old switches earlier than about 1975 often don't have one.

  • Would love the deal on the downlights again! I need some more :)

    • Ahh, Which one? can you send us an inquiry through [email protected], we will see what we can offer.

        • Thanks, we have found your record, just send an email to you.

  • Excellent! Just what I have been needing. One question for OP though: does this support trailing edge dimming for LEDs? Some of the nue dimmers only support leading edge.

    • Nue has done an upgrade on their dimmer mech, this version is compatble with both leading edge and trailing edge dimmable lights.

      • Good to know

Finally, can you pair one of the gangs in this switch to a second remote switch?

        This is my use case:
I have a 2-gang switch plate near the kitchen, one for the kitchen downlights and the other for a light by the front door entry. The front door entry has a single switch inside the front door for that light only.

So the entry light is operated as a two-way switch, with one of those switches part of the 2-gang plate. The kitchen lights are just a single switch, which is OK.

It would be nice to add dimming to the kitchen lights, while also keeping the current switch layout as that means no more cutting holes and mounting extra plates. Dimming to the entry light is a bonus but not essential.

My assumption is that if the switches are operating in a smart mode, then the entry light circuit wouldn't need to be two-way, because the switches are able to talk to each other and maintain the correct status if one or the other is pressed. Correct? Or not?

        Thanks!

        • Yes you can, but you need to use Samsung Smarthgings hub to link these swiches.

You can use any of the gang on the Nue Zigbee switch to control single or multiple gangs on other switches or a group of swiches.

But only doable through Smart thing hub, Philips Hue bridge does not support 2-way control unless you want to use Hue dimmer switch.

You are correct, the switches can be paired with each other so you do not need to do 2-way wireing setup.

          Hope it helps.

  • Do you have anything similar that works with a 3 speed ceiling fan as well as a light switch/dimmer?

    • Did you mean you after a single switch plate with a fan controller and a light dimmer on it?

  • Looking for a non zigbee one. But with wifi control.

  • Will it work with LifX ? I am aware lifx is not ZigBee.

    • Nop, it does not work with Lifx light or Lifx system.

The dimmer switch is designed to control normal downlights.

    • If you have a fully-featured zigbee hub (eg, Hubitat, SmartThings, Vera, etc) or HomeAssistant with a zigbee dongle (eg, Conbee) you could set up an automation to control the Lifx lights with zigbee switches. I've got HA+Conbee and I can trigger Lifx lights with Aqara sensors…

  • is there anyone making a 6 gang wifi switch version? I suspect physically not possible yet.

    • Sorry there is no 6 gang version in either WIFI or Zigbee

  • any way to disable the blue light that's on all the time?

    • Yes you can disable the blue light
