They're just matching Catch pricing and at Catch you can get an extra 10% off with student code and 6-8% off with GC

Also JB is $495 atm and I'm sure if you talk to the staff, they would give you a better deal

  • What are people's thoughts about these? I was recently tossing up between these (on the QFF shop) and Jabra Elite 85h (from JB HiFi using vouchers from Asia Miles redemption) and despite most online reviews showing the Bose are probably better I ended up going with the Jabras as I had read reviews that the app & firmware on these can be quite buggy.

    • $485 is a rort.

Bose employees get like 60% off. See if you can get in contact with one. My friend through the church works for Bose and gets insane discounts from them.

Yea, just go on LinkedIn and search for Bose employees. Spend 6 months befriending them to gain their trust, invite them out to dinner or events.

When you are good mates, ask them for a staff discount.

and finally, when you get your hands on the pair of discounted headphones, turn to them and say "Can't believe you fell for the oldest trick in the book - Friendship. Sucker!"

Isn't that what LinkedIn is for?

    • I sold mine app is terrible, connection is ok if you only use the same 2 devices as they will connect automatically, if have 3 or 4 a pain.

      • the current firmware has stuttering if connecting to two devices.

    • They have shockingly bad firmware. New ones are limited to v1.3, which is missing some features and has BT connectivity issues (on some devices - works fine on others). 1.4 & 1.5 both had a habit of bricking them, so have been withdrawn.

I had a pair for one day and they went back for a refund - couldn't hold a connection to my phone without stuttering. Seriously, I'd avoid them.

      • the stuttering was introduced in a later firmware along with significantly reduced battery life. Bose never fixed the issues.

Mine is still working because I never updated the firmware, but I made sure to kill the internet connection any time I listened with these. This unfortunately means no youtube or netflix.

I've been waiting for a deal on these, it's been around this price for a month. https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B07Q9MJKBV?context=se…

  • App sucks ass. multiple device issues were constant. Not sure what version I have now but it's stable as I change between my laptop and iPhone. Sound is top notch.

If you want multimedia use or care only about sound then these are the pick.

For office use the jabra elite is the pick. Better battery, mic and connectivity with teams and more comfy over looooong periods.
