    • Thank you- added in the post for the ease of others.

  • Is there anything else that's worth buying? Can't go in store (vic) so have to opt for delivery but paying $12 shipping for 1 item (non bulky) is the same price for multiple items as well. Don't really want to spend $99 for 'free shipping'.

    • According to their shipping details you can add multiple items for the $12 Shipping.

According to Pricehipster, the chair has been less than $100 at Anaconda several times this year. It’s hardly ever NOT on sale. This feels like normal price.

Woops, I dropped my magnum flask, that I use for my monster thirst.

  • dropped that flask

These flasks are poop. Get the Stanley

    • Thank you, considered buying for a second but wanted to read the comments first.

    • Have you owned one in the past?

    • Stanley's are the bomb!

I got the Oztrail flask and it lasted for a month… I lost the receipt so I couldn't even return it or get it replaced. Never again buying this brand.

    • I lost the receipt so I couldn't even return it or get it replaced.

Of course you can still return it. You don't need the receipt. Swaps are easy too.

Hey @bigspike, do you mean legally or just forcing it? haha
I did try taking it to the store and they said without the receipt they can't prove it's from Anaconda or when I bought it. Which in their defense it does make sense.
From this I should keep my receipts and not buy crappy brands :)

        • A card statement is adequate proof of purchase. Saw it on the checkout in one of their accc rants.

  • Yep. Buyer beware, here the reviews of the 1L one on the manufacturer's website - https://www.oztrail.com.au/products/magnum-vacuum-insulated-…

Looks like it's doesn't keep water hot for long and I can imagine the 2L one would have a worse ability to do so.

Why on earth is the stove priced over $400 to start with? I've had a look online and the only reason I can think its worth so much is if your drawn to its aesthetics.

Minor pluses, the dials seem recessed so less prone to breaking. The led light might be handy (but probably not as handy or bright as a $5 headlamp). The alloy construction could help jack the car up if you need to change the tyre.

I'm not sold, can anyone else see a reason to buy it?

It's not actually priced over $400. The outdoor/camping industry is similar to homewares… where things are super inflated RRP that the product rarely sells at, so they can have "massive discounts" regularly. Want a knife block for only $399 discounted from $1399?! This stove sells at other places around $200 every day of the week.

Consider the Coleman Hyperflame if you're looking for a new stove - https://www.snowys.com.au/blog/best-camping-stoves/
I've got a price watch on Camelx3 for the FyreCadet :-)

  • Did anyone get their bottle? Received an email a few days ago for a refund.

    • Nah received the same email this morning.
