With the massive depreciation in Samsung devices, I'm finding a lot of value in a second hand Fold 1 at ~$1200-1500 mark. This puts it in the ballpark of other normal phone flagships and represents a 50-60% saving from launch. I have found it to be an amazing device which has replaced my smartphone and iPad Mini.

The new fold is undoubtedly better in almost every aspect but in my opinion doesn't fundamentally change how you use the device nor take away from its predecessors strengths (massive screen, foldable pocket device, great battery life). The software updates will also filter down to the OG fold.

This will be the cheapest price for a while I suspect. Last year the Fold 1 never made it to the EPP. Good luck for those buying :)

      Talk to them through chat and they will give you a code. Just let them know that you've signed up a few days ago but haven't received your code.

      Nope. Minimum of $142.08/month for 24 months on their overpriced 5GB/month plan.
      That's equivalent to 3409.92 over 24 months.

      Vs.

      Buy the phone outright on EPP for $2349 + join a cheap MVN provider like Boost for $150/year (80GB) = $2649 over 2 years —> $760.92 ahead.
      Spend another $200 to buy a pair of Buds live if you REALLY want them on FB Marketplace/Gumtree when they become flooded with them when people receive their pre-orders.

      Also not locked in for 2 years. Only reason to buy on a post paid contract is if you can't afford the cost upfront. YMMV
      All Fold 2 models are Snapdragon - no Exynos for non US models like the other Galaxy lines.

        Worth it? My initial thought was the price is too high, but iPhone pro Max would be 2000 as well, and fold is way more cooler than any other phones.

          That's the million dollar question.

          For me its replacing an iPhone 11 Pro Max and an iPad mini, so the cost is somewhat more justifiable.
          Everyone's use case will be different. I don't see the price coming down significantly until Gen 4-5 if ever, given the way flagship prices on the S20+ Ultra/Note 20 Ultra keep increasing.
