  Kids seem to be really interested in the box itself, my kids included, but looking at it I can't see value in it, it looks way too simple for the cost. It also looks like to make it interesting you need to purchase a whole heap of expansions.

The info in this video adds a lot of value to the Lego Mario starter kit and convinced me to purchase one! You can use the Mario figure with custom made cardboard courses, for example. Seems like a good idea for crafty kids!
