32" FHD monitor? Sure, let me help you out finding deals:

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/tag/tv

      • +1

32” FHD won’t be nice. Maybe look for 4K in 32”

        • +9

          That's the joke

      • -1

Relax peeps it's friday! I was referring to a 32" with at least 2K monitor

        • +4

So you clicked on a 24" fhd deal post and complained it's not 32" 2k?

          • -7

@brendanm: I wasnt complaining, simply just thanking the OP as the deal sounds good for a small monitor, but I was after 32"…geezz

            • +8

@homersyd: You're getting downvoted because imagine the waste of space these threads would be if everyone who wasn't interested in a deal, posted a comment saying they weren't interested.

2K is basically 1080p. QHD is what you're trying to refer to.

  • +5

Literally said last week that this would slide back into $250 soon enough. This will be a great buy at $200ish in a couple of months.

    • I really hope so, Eyeing for two of these for few months now, would be great if I could get $200 a pop.
Question: Do you know if a RTX2060 can run two of these at 144HZ?

      • +3

Grab the 5600 XT. Will blast through most games at 1080p, and the most economical option for quite a while to come.

Don't expect the 24G2s any lower than their pre-COVID prices of $250-260. It is wildly popular, pre and during COVID, and supply has been a persistent issue. If you can get sub $300, you're doing okay.

This deal is $260, for limited stock, during a flash sale. If you get an order in, you're lucky.

I grabbed one at $300 (with $40 steam credit on redemption) and powered with a Red Devil 5700 XT alongside a 27" 1440p 144Hz.

Like most upgrade decisions, depends how soon you want your next upgrade - when you're ready, do it. Just don't wait for price drops that'll never happen. Good quality 60Hz 1080p monitors are hard to come by at $200, don't expect that for the market's most popular 144Hz monitor.

        • Depends on which game. I'm playing FS2020 using 5600 XT. The game crashes at ultra settings on two 1080p monitors at 20fps. The 5600 XT runs one FHD monitor easily at 50-60 fps high/ultra settings. I guess 5700 XT is a better buy, or 5600 XT for now then resale for a 3060 next year.

          • @tedzozb: What game, it's requirements and it's optimization, is one of the biggest variables.

What a GPU can do for LoL will be a lot different than a Ubisoft AAA title, producing different performances.

FS2020 is demanding. It will be one of the games in the minority that a 5600 XT does not do as well with.

Of course, a more powerful GPU is always better. But for some people, that's a luxury, or for others, not worth the premium cost. I personally rock a great 5700 XT and can play 144Hz 1440p really well with most titles, but then I've got a 144Hz 1080p to go to with a more demanding (usually less well optimized) title that the 5700 XT will invariably do a whole lot better getting >100 fps.

As for better performance with FS2020 - there have been some great prices on 5700 XTs of late, for obvious reasons, and unlike a lot of people I really believe it isn't a bad time to buy in on an outgoing gen GPU, because you're getting great performance at really good prices, you don't have to wait for the cycle of announcements and FE/AIB releases and supply/cost issues, and you will ultimately pay a lot less than buying next gen. Such is the demand of FS2020, if you're a devotee, you might even make the argument of going for more power with a 2080 or above, or wait for flagship RDNA2 which should be the most economical high-tier card.

      • +1

In a dual screen gaming configuration? Yes, though you won't be able to use adaptive sync on one of them. In the more demanding games, it may need to lean on DLSS to do so.

If you're only going to game on the one monitor, tthe RTX 2060 is plenty enough, and there's an argument to be made for targeting a 1080p 240Hz or 1440p 144Hz monitor instead. There's no reason to target two of these if you're going to sacrifice your main monitor experience to do so.

If you're asking in terms of will your GPU explode if you plug in two of these monitors in: no. A modern GPU has 4 ports on it, and each DisplayPort port can connect up to 4 monitors through being daisy-chained to one another (where the monitor has two DP ports), subject to the bandwidth requirements for each display (subject to the speeds of the cables you're sporting) using a technology called Multi-Stream Transport (MST).

You can calculate what you can squeeze in with an RTX 2060 here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort#Resolution_and_ref…

The DP 1.4a ports on the 2060 max out with HBR3 options, and are only subject to DSC if the monitor in the sequence supports it.

        • Thanks @jasswolf and @miracle

My Issue is I just bought an almost new RTX2060 for $350 from FB Marketplace (I don't know if I will regret it post 3000 series launch but maybe the $350 price is good enough to justify the impulse purchase)

Now I prefer flat screens, needs two monitor for gaming and Work From home… I guess two of these would be my best bet?
The other option I have is the Xiaomi 34inch one but I just can't stand curve screens…

BTW only planning to game on one screen, but preferring two exact same monitors because lets just say I also can't stand two different monitors on a dual screen setup :)

          • +1

@Bappy: Be happy with the 2060. Keep it 'til it no longer powers what you need it to power.

I suggest getting one 144Hz 1080p (gaming), and one 60/75Hz 1080p (work). Your aesthetic wish for same monitor makes that tricky. Maybe look at the 24G2E5, which is just AOCs 75Hz variant, which might match your preference and save coin by coming in at $200.

The other thing I recommend is a stacked arrangement (monitors above and below each other, not side-by-side). It requires an investment in monitor mounts. The experience is unmatched - minimal head movement, comfort, more desk space, better productivity.

          • +2

            @Bappy:

I don't know if I will regret it post 3000 series launch but maybe the $350 price is good enough to justify the impulse purchase

Unfortunately it's not, but because you at least bought into the RTX branch of cards, it will keep reasonable pace with the 3000 series. Pretty much every card halved in their intrinsic value overnight, and the 2080 Ti dived to a third.

I would have recommended the upcoming Samsung G5 for sub-$400 if you were OK with a curve for gaming/entertainment, and then this at $200, because even basic IPS costs $130, and that would serve you well for productivity apps and standard colour work. I'd also recommend to stay well away from the Xiaomi VA for gaming purposes.

I'm a big believer in mixing and matching monitor technology, as that allows you to wind up with a nice secondary or tertiary monitor over time as you slowly progress your gaming setup. I see the matching monitor and ultrawide markets as a sucker's game unless you have a progression path for where your second screen might go over time (a child's gaming setup, a LAN cafe rotation, good will, etc).

            • @jasswolf: Any other flat screen IPS 144hz monitors you would recommend?

              @miracle
Yes I noticed 24G2E5 previously, it looks very similar to 24G2

              Thanks to both of you

              • +1

@Bappy: At the budget end of things? Currently that would be the Viewsonic VX2758-2KP-MHD when it drops below $400, subject to you using at 1440p 144Hz locked due to its overdrive configuration to deliver that smoothly.

Adaptive sync is handy, but I'd rather proper 144Hz performance as a priority over that, as the impact of a frame tear is reduced as you go up in refresh rate.

                • @jasswolf: Would a GTX1660 SUPER be suitable for a duel setup for the AOC moniter?

          • @Bappy: Btw the curve is very low on the 34. I have the alienware with the same curve and was concerned cos I also watch tv shows on it from further away. But it doesn't cause any issues.

this is normal price pretty much, currently $288.35 on eBay from the same seller and combine with the $10 cash back brings it down to $278.35.

this deal is $259 + $19.95 (for Sydney Metro) = $278.95 and you don't have a free 30 days change of mind hassle free return

    • Thank you! useful

  • 1440p 60hz monitor deal when?

    • Not a commonly sort after spec list, don't see many listing for those. Most are after those high frames. Might need to find your own deal?

    • no point really, they are always around the same price as 4k 60hz monitors

      • I humbly disagree, would rather 1440p over 4k.

        • really, that's interesting, I also used to think so, but I just got a 4k screen recently and texts are just much more crisp to look at

        • I think 4k is gonna be the standard within the next 6 months.

    • I'm running this at 74Hz currently. Not the best monitor in the world but does the job for me:

$288 on an Ebay Plus special back in march.

What kind of monitor should i be looking for with the new 3000 series + PS5? Due for an upgrade..

    • +2

Depends on what 30 series card you're interested in.

For those announced (3070 and above), 1440p 144Hz monitors are probably best.

I presume 4K will be too much of a burden on your frames (even 3080/90 in a lot of games). Ray-tracing is still likely to kill frames, too, so might even want to step back to 1080p if you want to be doing that.

The PS5 might do decently at 1440p, essentially if their games/ports are optimised well. Again, if considering ray-tracing, you'll be deciding between RT or fps.

      • Thanks man, but yeah most likely 3070 is what ill be getting + PS5. Will keep an eye out

  • +3

1ms?!?! Talk about lag. How the (profanity) do you expect me to snag Amazon bargains posted here before others?!?!?

If anyone is bored or feeling generous, I've got a $50 coupon from Samsung, spend over $200. Looking for a monitor $200-$250 after discount.
Not a gamer, need it for everyday use and opening, reading a lot of PDF's and it will probably be used as a TV for streaming in my room.
What would be best from the Samsung store. I see a few 24/27in but can't exactly tell the difference(based on my needs) and whether it is necessary for me to pay extra. I would like to have a dual monitor set up one day, connecting it to a Dell XPS 13 and height adjustable would help.
Or, if not a Samsung, what else.
Thanks in advance, I have done the research but seem to get more confused the more I read.

For anyone considering going from a single monitor, and wanting more productivity, I can vouch that having 2 x 23" IPS 1080p AOC monitors is a great WFH productivity boost to a laptop. It wont give you the same immersion in single app programs like games and large cross screen spreadsheets, but at ~450-500 bucks total cost, you're way ahead price wise than the ~2k for a comparable screen space super ultrawide. For getting 2 external display outputs from a laptop, you can use a HDMI cable from laptop port, and a USB-C to HDMI cable from the laptop's USB-C port.

  • +1

These are notorious for dead pixels. Just make sure you can return the monitor if it has one in an annoying spot (you're almost guaranteed to get atleast one)

    • Well I must be the lucky few

      • Same, never seen a dead pixel in the seven months I've had mine

    • Yep - just got my replacement last week. Had bought before EOFY and received it DOA: one dead pixel near centre. Tried in vain hoping it was just stuck but to no avail. AOC support were rather difficult (had to send then video evidence) and then waited for stock to arrive. It’s a beaut display, though, worth the lottery!

shopping express epic hour sales will usually end up being the same as normal price if u include shipping fee…

  • Hows this for a work monitor? Only have room for a 24"

    • I use it as my main monitor for work as well, and have no issues whatsoever. I can’t say for certain if it will meet all work requirements if you’re in one of those professional graphic industry, but certainly more than sufficient for a regular office work type

      • Nah mate just email and normal type work apps. I use a 32" 2K 144hz VA for normal PC use and gaming, just need a side monitor to hook laptop up to.

  • +1

Really regretting buying one slightly second-hand for $290 a few weeks ago…

  • I bought one of these last week and love it. My first monitor faster than 60hz. My second monitor is a LG 43" and gaming at 4k was pretty taxing on my GPU. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking at a cheap decent panel and looking to try out 144hz.

    • +1

I bought one of these last month for $299, and absolutely loved it too. The image colours are so good precalibrated out of the box with wide colour gamut, and definitely looks great with games. Even the monitor stand is great with all the adjustable options for this price range. Seriously a great monitor and it’s no surprise why this is one of the most popular gaming monitor at this price range!

      • I bought one of these last month for $299, and absolutely loved it…

        Only a month, what happened!?

  • Should I get this with a gtx 1650 super?

  • +1

Been waiting for this monitor for awhile :). gonna try n snag one.

    Edit: postage is $20 hmmm.

  • +2

    Postage kills the deal

  • Is Shopping Express a reputable vendor? What's the warranty/return policy like? I buy mostly from Amazon and eBay.

  • Damn, this looks perfect for me. However, like others have said, the shipping kinda makes it iffy.

  • should probably mention 1 per customer

  • Managed to place an order on Saturday evening, made payment and all.

Received an email a few minutes ago advising they can no longer fulfil my order as they have no stock and will issue a full refund (apparently issue with the distributor). Very disappointed…
