      Agreed.

      Can anyone confirm how hot the laptop gets when gaming? Do the fans get extremely loud, does the keyboard area get incredibly hot?

        if it's anything like the G73, the only thing bad abut it is the battery life. You get 5 min of gaming without AC power

          lol. I have played BF3 demo on XPS 17", Full HD, 8 GB RAM, GT540 2 GB and I used to get 25 minutes on battery from 100% to 10%.
          Also laptop used to be quite hot near the exhaust ( left side)

    Really?

    Clock speed is similar, and the ability to process more threads does not make it faster. Nowhere (that I can find) does Intel claim a 100% performance improvement between Hyperthreading and not.

      Yes, I was also surprised to see such statement. I think they write anything as no one is asking for a proof.
      I have got the same processor on my XPS17" with 8gb RAM and I am quite sure, it is not double to speed to my old HP core 2 duo 2.1 GHZ, 4GB ram laptop.
