Was going through Amazon's today deals and found out this gem. Listed for $549 at JB Hi-Fi, so I'd say it's a pretty good deal.

  if youre gonna drop 3-400 on noise cancelling headphones you should just wati for the xm4's price to drop. ive read that these havent improved much from the previous gen.

    I agree….. even with that amount of money I would rather get XM3 or QC35II for around 329-ish ?
    or may be 299 if you are lucky?

    This pair supports aptx LL though so if you have a transmitter with aptx LL as well it will be much better for video/games on PC/TV.

  Had issues with the battery not charging on the first model, even though my unit was in warranty Sennheiser asked me to pay for the battery replacement. I am not 100% sure if the second generation units had fix this but this is a heads up for any future buyers out there. You can find similar owners like me who had this problem on google search or on Reddit.

  I had both PXC-550 and Sony XM3 I used on long flights. I prefer the XM3 as it has better noise cancelling and comfort. My ears burn after wearing the PXC550 for an hour. Gumtree'd the PX550 to get the XM4.

    to be fair XM3 has Active NC while PXC-500 has Hybrid NC. PXC-500-II has Active but from the review I saw, XM3 and QC35 are still better.
