Are you also addicted to OzBargain?

My go-to websites after waking up used to be SMH, AFR, Couple of sports.
But in the last 3-4 months, I see myself on Ozbargain in the Morning, Noon, Evening, Nights!!!
So obviously I am an OzB Addict!! It does trigger at times instinctive purchases or what Millenials would say FOMO!!
Keen to know if the same with you as well?

I have an OzBargain feed on my smart mirror. Can't miss out when brushing!

    • +2

and I can vouch for that if within seconds you become the 1st to reply!!! :-)

    • Where did you get the smart mirror? I'd like to know… :-)

      • +2

DIY with a Raspberry Pi. Heaps of tutorials online and different methods.

        • Awesome! Gotta check it out now.

          • @burningrage: Of course you can buy off the shelf smart mirrors but they're expensive.

            • +5

@Clear: I know about Clear's mirror, and I always post on OzBargain to see myself in his reflection.

          Just learnt something new..

    • +1

Can you post up a picture of this please?

  • +1

    Yes

  • +5

My partner told me to block OzBargain from my PC as I keep buying things I don't need :(

    • +3

Better than being told "Ozb or me…" lol.

      • +5

She'd lose that contest. He'd end up looking for bargains on a cheaper partner

      • +5

I've dated an OzBargainer before. We avoid each others posts now 😅

    • +1

So I'm guessing you're looking for a new partner now? 😅

  • +5

I use more Ozb than facebook or instagram

  • +1

    Yes. Very, very yes.

  • +2

Yes absolutely, have been buying stuff I may not need for another 200 years. 😭

  • +6

Are you also addicated to OzBargain?

    What is addicated?

    Edit: found it.

Addicated (adj.) : When you read a word as intended even though it is incorrectly spelt.

    My answer then is yes.

    • +1

Hahaha!! I didn't even realise that. Obviously English is not my first language and Grammarly didn't prompt.

      • Grammarly

Grammarly is an online grammar checking, spell checking, and plagiarism detection platform developed by Grammarly, Inc. The software was first released in late 2009. Grammarly's proofreading and plagiarism-detection resources check against more than 250 grammar rules.

Also you are not as addicted as you said, a bit slow with replies me thinks :D

        • Better to be late than never!!! :-)

  • +1

No…I can quit anytime I want..

See you at the next OA meeting.

  • +1

Yes. And you fellow Ozbargainers are my friendship group!

  • +4

I'm only here for the RRP pre-order notifications…

    • +4

Admit you download all the free Amazon recipe ebooks too.

  • +2

I check multiple times a day but probably only purchase something I see once every 6-8 weeks. Not sure if that makes me “addicted”?

  • Addicated?

    • +5

      take an addicated guess

  • +1

I have found myself checking OzB more than my uni's blackboard…
I see no issue with that.

  • +1

I find it comes in waves, used to spend much more time on it 5 or 6 years ago, but if I am looking for something specific much more often.

Regardless I check a few times a day but skim most of the time.

  • +1

    No i'm not

    • No I didn't impulse buy runners last night at 11pm that I probably don't even need, i'm not addicted

  • +3

Yes, I’m like others here, just for the “comments”. 😆

  • +1

Unlike other platforms, I personally feel closer to the Ozbargin community. I use wesbites like Reddit as well, but everytime I open it, it's just US politics, Trump, and stuff I couldn't care less about (PS: I know I can filter it). Ozbargin, however, display stuff that is actually relevent to me.

    • +5

I know I trust ozbargain comments and recommendations far more than any other site. And, for me, that still increases over time. Ozbargain has trust. It has earned it.

  • +1

Just one last ozbargain I swear then I'll go cold Turkey.

  • Certainly!

  • +2

Always. Never want to miss on the deal you never you knew you needed.

  • +2

I’m posting at 1:36 in the morning, what do you think?

    • +1

That you're just here to try to be helpful.

    • +4

I'm posting from Sweden and none of the bargains are applicable to me… what do you think?

      • +2

I bow to the higher claim. However, you might be able to get some of the Internet ones sent to you. :)

How are you doing over there? I really love Europe but I would be finding it a tad scary. I was up late because of Le Tour de France, the crowds were nuts; if there isn’t an outbreak of COVID amongst the riders in the next few weeks it will be down to good luck rather than good management. I’m glad Porte made it to the podium, that Time Trial was bonkers.

        Keep well.

        • Doing well! Keeping safe and enjoying the relative freedom :) It's an adventure for sure!

          • +1

@The Wololo Wombat: We’re, basically, retired so our lives haven’t changed much. What we’ve realised is most of our lives are spent in 5 km of our house. We are meant to be hosting my family in France next year. Looks like it ain’t gonna happen. Will have to see if NZ will let us in :)

      • Respect!!!

  • +1

    Looks at comment count

Nope, I can stop at any time…

    • Holy smokes.

      ROUK?

or was that last week? I also don't read the news anymore and just get all my info from ozbargain.

I'm not psychologically addicted, at this point it's just physical dependence and I get withdrawals if I don't confirm that, yes indeed, I have no use for any more "things".

Except I'm almost out of my last 4kg jerky purchase.

      Jim's, 25% off time please.
