JV: "www.target.com.au is not in the list of stores"

      • +10

Slightly wrong. JV: "www.target.com.au is not in the list of stores."

        • +2

Haha, getting closer! You missed the whacko font resizing and italics/underlining though. Can the mods please make a JV bot for when he isn't around? Surely there's enough material to train the AI on by now.

      • JV is the Ken of Ozbargain sometimes.

Never used one of these stores in my life…

    • +6

Brands you love…. Never even heard of most of them. Glad I cancelled the amex earlier this week

      • -4

most amex cards dont have annual fees, so how are you gaining from cancelling

        • +14

I think you mistyped, most amex cards have an annual fee.

          • +3

            @knobbs: https://www.americanexpress.com/au/credit-cards/no-annual-fe…
Who pays annual fees when you dont have to

            No annual fee Credit Cards:
            The American Express
            Essential® Credit Card

            The Qantas American Express
            Discovery Credit Card

            The American Express
            Velocity Escape Card

            • +7

@asa79: I agree but these aren't the 'most' Amex cards though.

              • -4

@virhlpool: Yep most, not sure why your paying an annual, but that is your choice

                • +6

@asa79: You still didn't get the point. I am not referring to annual fees or not. All I am saying is that the 'most' Amex cards have annual fees, only a few don't.

                    • +12

                      @asa79: Your English isn't saying what you're saying, that's why it's confusing.

Amex AU has three (3) NO annual fee cards.

Amex AU also has nineteen (19) cards WITH annual fees.

                      And you say:

most amex cards dont have annual fees

                      • -3

@Friendly Troll: 3 no annual fee, so how many other ones have rewards and no annual fee cards, visa, mastercard etc?

                        • -1

                          @asa79:

so how many other ones have rewards and no annual fee cards, visa, mastercard etc

All American Express cards earn reward points.

American Express, Visa and Mastercard are different brands.

Visa and Mastercard are (generally?) issued through banks to consumers, whereas American Express themselves can directly issue you their cards or through the banks.

If you want to compare, start with the banks and see what they offer.

                          • -1

@Friendly Troll: which others are no annual fee

                            • +1

@asa79: Coles No Annual Fee Mastercard, Virgin Money No Annual Fee Credit Card, ME Bank Frank Credit Card, St George No Annual Fee Credit Card, Latitude 28 Global Platinum Mastercard, BankSA No Annual Fee Credit Card, BankWest Zero Platinum Mastercard, Citi Simplicity Credit Card. There's more but you get the point.

                              • -3

@capslock: most of those arent reward either ;)

    • It's a weird name to call it brands you love when some of these are stores not brands.

  • +2

I dun love any of them unfortunately

  • +4

No Deal…Over priced stores with crappiest offers.

  • +3

I've heard of toys r us …. and kitchenaid… but that's about it.

  • Any link to the actual deal?

  • I got the offer on my Discovery card… it's not clear in the terms and conditions of whether or not you can use it multiple times at the one store though (it doesn't explicity allow or deny it, it just says "get 15% credit each time")

    • +1

This means you can use it multiple times

      • Yep that's I figured too

  • Targeted; didn't show up on DJs Amex but showed up on Velocity Escape and Westpac Platinum cards. Probably 'cause DJs assumes you'll buy the brands like Jo Malone from DJs …

    • i've never bought JM from DJ. buying direct from JM gives you free samples ^_^

  • Full list of brands here - https://www.americanexpress.com/content/dam/amex/au/merchant…

Valid online for the above only in VIC, other states have a few stores you can spend in-store.

  • Is it 15% off the including or excluding gst price?

    • -1

Including? All prices in shops include gst.

      • They might be thinking of places like Cashrewards where some sites exclude GST from the cashback amount

  • Is Jo Malone candle any good? On the expensive side vs other candles in the market

  • Warning on City Perfume (which is not competitively priced without a discount)… for more than one of their previous AmEx promos, they've had multiple locations taking payment via Square to an account that doesn't trigger the AmEx credit. I've had to manually request my credit from AmEx twice.

  • i got it. amex gold (no annual fee)

  • 15% off for www.2xu.com/au

is this a bargain? Was thinking to buy a compression tight for running.

Better to check out DFO or buy full price online?

  • Up to 7.5% cashback for Jo Malone at shopback or cashrewards on top of AMEX credit
