  • What are the product mass of the wood chips/chunks bags? I only see dimensions for what I presume is the packaging which isn’t too useful when comparisons products.

Any sales for Kamado Joes in the near future?

  • Also keen on the kamado joe, any idea when you'll have more stock of the classic?

If anyone is after a great smoker that doubles as a grill you should check out the Masterbuilt 560 that they have. It's so versatile and can cook some amazing stuff. Check out their YouTube videos if you're interested.

    • It's a cheaply built gravity fed charcoal smoker/bbq

They had it on sale for $1000 at launch

Let me qualify the comment a little, it's cheaply built meaning they use very thin steel, not really economical for smoking low and slow (8hrs+) and it bends and breaks easily. I can only imagine how long it will last before rusting away.

Cheaply built in that electronic circuit boards are a common failure, BBQs galore will fix that issue of course.

It's currently on clearance in the USA, for under $500 AUD. That doesn't mean much, but it just goes to show how unlucky we are here. It is also a budget brand over there.

All that said, I would easily buy this over a pellet grill, which don't produce anywhere near the flavour profile of this or a stick burner.

Just know the limitations before you buy.

        • Is there anything that's set and forget that will have the flavour that this does? It seemed weird that this was the only that was in this design but I only looked in bunnings and barbeques galore

          • @NuttyGoodness: Not for the price. It's actually a decent deal vs the prices we usually get for smokers that come from the USA.

For $1,000 I'd buy it and I'd be happy (not right now because of finances)…… maybe you can negotiate an ozbargain special?

I got it for $1000 and I don't regret it one bit. The reverse seared steaks on this have made me a snob

        • Just saw your comment. Yep, at $1k it's a great deal.

  • How's the Beefmaster series compare to Beefeater?
