    I could be totally wrong here, but I have a funny feeling the “PS5 patch” for those upgradable games will not be available from launch day.

    The patch is intended for people who hop onto PS5 a little later. So I wouldn’t be surprised if the PS4 version of Valhalla is left alone for a few months.

    I don’t necessarily agree with it, but it would force people to purchase the slightly more expensive version. Money talks.

      Hmmmm, wonder how that would make sense with digitally purchased games.. For example, I pre-ordered FIFA 21 on PS4 via the PSN store with a guaranteed upgrade to PS5 day one..

        That's a good point. Hadn't considered the digital stuff.

        The update is entirely dependent on the developer, so EA must be doing it the right way (for a change).

        Still awaiting Ubisoft to clear things up… I am so keen for Valhalla, I want it to look its absolute best on console.

      Valhalla will have a free upgrade from Xbox One to Xbox Series X and PS4 to PS5 when the next-gen consoles launch this holiday. If you purchase a physical edition for PS4, you'll have to insert the disc in your PS5 to play with the next-gen enhancements. The same goes for Xbox One to Series X. Digital edition PS4 and Xbox One owners will be able to download the next-gen version. So you'll only have to buy one edition of the game to play on both generations of consoles

    Looks like Sackboy matched Ozgameshop. Still too expensive. I think I'll wait for a used copy. $120 for Destruction All Stars? To me it looks like a budget title.

    I'm always keen to play through Overcooked(s) again but that's an addled price for games that have been regularly adjacent to free many many times. The extremely limited amount of new content is pretty meagre.

    I get why they've done it (there's plausibly a new group of players for nextgen) but $39.95 would have been a much better pricepoint.

    I know I'm going to get some flack for even posting this buy the PS game price increases are a joke. Xbox yesterday bought ZeniMax and all its shops including Bethesda - GamePass at $15pm has ridiculous value compared to Sony and their $100+ games. I'm very much considering leaving PS for a year and see how it goes.

      This is like comparing Netflix to BluRays, if Netflix has what you want to watch it is great value, if it does not it has no value. If you want to play most of the above games, GamePass will not help you.

        I'm just saying it's insane that people are willing to pay $100 per game just because they want to play 5 exclusives. Whereas you could play all the other games for just $11pm if you are willing to forgo 5 exclusives.

        On PS 10 games would cost say $1,000
        And on Xbox 1 year of GamePass would cost just $120 in comparison but have 100+ games making games on GamePass somewhere like ~$1.2 on average.

          So I bought into the 3 year gamepass Brazil thing and quickly realised a few things.

          1) You don't get the full versions of games but the very basic ones. Forza 4 Horizon for example doesn't include any of the dlc content or expansions or extras which is what made it great. All extra $$$ which is what they're trying to upsell you.

          2) Games don't stay on Gamepass forever but do cycle out, so eventually some games currently available will be taken away with nothing you can do about it.

          3) You don't actually own a license for any games with Gamepass. Once your account lapses or gets disabled for whatever reason, you lose access to these games.

          4) You can still resell physical copies to recoup some money but after years of paying for Gamepass you're left with nothing at all to keep.

          5) Quality of games. Highly subjective and debateable till the cows come home but quality over quantity is preferred by some.

          So you're not really comparing Apples to Apples here.

      $130 for the cheapest version (scaling up to $190) is ridiculous and they can get (profanity). Tell 'em they're dreaming.

      It's $90 RRP on PC - literally zero reason why there is a $40 console tax. People who bought digital edition PS5s are going to get hosed so hard with the inflated prices of next gen.

    I bought a xbox Series X today, because the PS5 third party games are so much more expensive.

    Have ordered both consoles,

    Will use xbox with third party online games with the pass

    and ps5 for exclusives -

      Arn't the third party prices roughly the same? Valhalla is selling $99 for both platforms.

      Gamepass will hit it's stride once consumers are given the option of subscribing for $15 p/m or buying games for $129 on ps5. If bethesda/ ID games are pumping out awesome titles then gamepass becomes a no-brainer

        Nope, i checked COD - it is priced $89 on PS5 and $79 on XB -

        There is a $10 difference on most games.

        XB games are forward compatible, e.g. XB and XBX compatible. So it is going for $79 on average, but PS5 is a clear rip off.

        I'm only planning play cyberpunk with my PS5 when it launches - Only because it is a ps4 title that are made to work on Ultra HD with the PS5 -

        Ordered the XB with ultimate pass, would be keen to try game streaming one day on a tablet.

          Not available in Australia, you have to use a VPN and the lag kills the stream quality every time you move :(

          Yep good call.

          I preordered the ps5 because as a from software fan I fear missing out on demon souls.

          But after that, I'm seriously contemplating trading it for a series x. Gamepass is damn compelling. My kids would also get a lot of use out of it.

    I've also stopped ordering from Amazon day one delivery. I live within 8km of the Sydney CBD. The mail gets sorted at a depot 12 minutes away and they always fail to deliver on Friday. I think it's got something to do with my orders being parcel collect at the Post Office. The drivers just say "F##k it, I'll drop it off on Monday". I just get games at JB and elsewhere now. I'll probably cancel my prime sub.
