  True, no one beats cineplex on price, even the snack bar prices are a time warp.
  But they don’t screen anything like the range of movies these guys do. I’m happy Brisbane has both chains.

  From their website: https://www.fivestarcinemas.com.au/red-hill/star-club it seems that tickets are $12 regardless if you are a star club member or not. So apart from the points and a chance to win a private gold room screening, are there any other benefits?

    Maybe a promotion is on at that particular cinema? According to these pages, adult tickets at the other cinemas are normally $17, or $12 with star club membership:
