      • Delivered today according to the tracking but I need to check with the parents where I had it delivered to.
Their estimate of the 7th was correct it seems.

  • Am I the only that has an arrival date of 20/10/2020 but nothing has been shipped yet? I ordered on 04/10/2020.

Same with mine and I ordered on the same day. Got an email today saying Dec 17th now. Annoying.

Yeah same, December 14th for me. Absolute stupidity. Time to cancel!

        • Could be some miscommunication or system screw up. Some people started having their orders fulfilled (and they also recently had the delivery date revised to Dec).

    • I just received an update on my order that was placed on the 8th of October that was set to arrive today. It's now been revised to arrive on December 9.

I hope it arrives sooner, like some others have reported.

  • I think a system screw up. I just received my monitor today despite getting that delayed till Dec email.. so don't cancel your orders !

  • Got mine despite being changed to Dec 17th. Must say I'm really impressed by the panel quality, mine has no backlight bleed or IPS glow and no dead pixels. Colour calibration looks great on standard, I don't think it needs any calibration but I got similar results as standard with 95/94/100 RGB. FreeSync isn't listed in the OSD but it works flawlessly between 40-60fps. Finally the UFO tests show significant overshoot with a slight improvement in ghosting on "fast" and "extreme" response settings so I've set it to "normal" which has a little bit of ghosting but no overshoot. Overall I'm very happy with it. Also I set the scaling to 150% as everything is a bit too small at 125%.

It's great value for money, especially for those with $30-$60 voucher from a previous Dell purchase. However, a few things to note:

      • HDR is turned off by default (to save power). You need to turn it from the menu. If Windows 10 is not letting you turn on HDR, check your monitor setting first.
      • Even when you turned it on, on consoles such as XBox One X, it defaults to 8-bit colour depth. You probably want to change it to at least 10-bit (when using HDR).
      • Default is not using fast wake up (again to save power).

Overall, I am quite happy with it, but… some minor nitpicks:

      • The HDR on this monitor is feels more like a gimmick. It feels more that you get flashes of HDR from time to time (and even then, not very impressive), rather than a consistent HDR experience. HDR400, so I guess you cannot expect much.
      • The on-screen menu system, while good, does have a rather low resolution feel (as mentioned in some of the user reviews I saw). It feels lower res than LG 4K display. Not an issue in Windows since you can use the app, but when you are using a console or other devices, you might need to use the menu.

The backlight bleed, IPS glow is in the norm of IPS monitors, perhaps on the slightly better side. Certainly better than Dell S2721DGF (but that's a high speed gaming monitor).

I tried HDR on Xbox and couldn't really tell a difference but I've never used real HDR so have no point of reference. Decided to just leave it off. I also got the S2721DGF and the BLB is worse on that one but not that bad. I feel the panel QA is a bit higher on this monitor than the S2721DGF, also the out of box calibration is much better than the S2721DGF.

By the way what's the difference between desktop, movie, and game HDR? There's three options and I'm not sure what the difference is.
