Seagate Ironwolf NAS 8TB HDD $328 + Delivery @ Mwave

60

I believe this is a deal since I have been personally hunting for these for quite and while and have noticed that they've usually been around $350-$400. Mwave has recently dropped the price and seems to be the cheapest around and could possibly be the cheapest it has ever been at retail of course excluding that recent eBay Plus deal (I saw an Ozb deal for $336 recently). I already have this drive and other Ironwolf's and can confirm they are great NAS drives, however it is worth mentioning that a Barracuda can potentially also be better value since it is cheaper if you don't have a NAS. Even if you do Barracuda's are good as NAS drives as-well (I use them). I have included + Delivery just in-case anyone can't go to the Mwave store but I will say that the store is very nice and if its accessible to you then its worth it since this is a pretty good price for an 8TB Ironwolf.

Worth mentioning an eBay plus deal just arose so snipe this if you're into eBay plus: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/570403

Barracuda's are not good as NAS drives considering they're SMR (if you're using RAID and/or zfs)

    • That's true, I just said it since I've been using 4TB Barracuda's in my Synology NAS running Synology Hybrid RAID for around 2 years now (3x barracude, 1xironwolf) and have had no issues. I think I did that because Ironwolf's were super expensive at the time.

Could be Barracuda's back then weren't SMR.

          They weren't.

  • According to Amazon there is a newer model, the Seagate IronWolf Silver.
[edit] Silver might be the Pro version.

    • Silver might be the colour desecription.
