I was looking for a new PSU and found this, $20 cheaper than anywhere else from what I could see. Not a bad deal with delivery included… But they have a stupid credit card surcharge

Not much headroom, but it will work.

Yeah it'd run a 3080 fine, especially considering undervolting these cards might be the go anyway.

I'd probably opt for the 750W because it's only about $30 more and would likely run a lot quieter if that's your thing. Once the RMx get above about 90% load the fan has to start working a lot harder, hence more noise.

Myself I regret only getting a 550W Corsair TXM. Runs my OCed 8600k/1080ti fine but now it's put me in a position where I need to upgrade for a 3080. Just some thoughts for people to consider.

  • I went with the Corsair SF750 Platinum 80+ model which Amazon had going for $240 a couple of weeks ago (lowest price I could find at the time). I would've probably gone with this one instead if I saw this earlier but I like some of the extra perks you get in going with the Platinum such as the SFX to ATX adapter and sleeved cables. Plus I always like the idea of having extra headroom in the watt department as it means I can hold on to it longer in the future.

  • I just got the rm750x for $199 from scorptec
